I grew up on a fairly busy road, we had a cat for all the time that I lived there, he had the sense not to go out on the road at all although he did chase another cat out there which sadly used up any of its remaining nine lives, he stopped at the hedge. My brother did the decent thing, picked the cat up and returned it to its owner to explain what had happened, the exchange of words between him and the old lady is worthy of a Monty Python sketch, but hardly appropriate on this thread.

I live on a busyish road for where I am, Mile Oak Road, but not that time of day, was just bad luck, as I say was always going to be the way he went, he had been hit by a car 3 times before, but each time the driver stopped and asked either us or the neighbours who the cat belonged to, just not this time.

think i would rather be too cold than too hot, cause its easier to warm yourself up than it is to cool yourself down

Its disgusting weather!!

Aussies have a seriously WARPED attitude to sunny weather.

They're quite happy getting strapped into a ridiculous full-length wet-suit with a side-order of green face-paint so they can form an orderly queue to ride a plank of wood into the shore. But ask them to lay on a beautiful sandy beach on a towel and, say, read a book or smoke a joint or something, and they immediately demand the car-keys and go sit in the car and sulk til you feel like a bad person and have to take them home.

Australia is wasted on the Australians. FACT.

Sorry have to disagree, my dogs and I would much rather have cold, snow and ice even better. Am seriously contemplating getting one of those single room air units, does anyone know if they are any good?

We have three, we got them originally when Anastasia was poorly. I forget what model we have and I'm afraid I am not hauling my fat 35 week pregnant butt back upstairs but next time I am up there I will check. I think they are called Arctic Air or something similar.

They work really well though. They make your electricity bill sky rocket, btw!

I've burnt my face. Trouble is for some reason I tan everywhere except round my eyes, so I now look like an inverse raccoon again. Every bloody year.
