Eggs Benedict? Wetherspoons :lolol:

Very funny. Next you will be telling us they also serve fruit tea or beer that hasn’t gone past it’s sell-by date.

Given the gigantic quantities of beer that Wetherspoons (normally) sell, do you really think that they can service that demand with (going) out of date stock...?

Tim Martin is a bellend, but the Wetherspoons concept is sound.

I’m not knocking the concept…clearly there is a huge demand for gone-off beer which Tim Whetherspoon meets.

My dear friend no beer supped by me ever makes it's way to Spoons we don't lower ourselves.

Spoons though don't use short life beer he just buys so much of it he drives the price down, he commits to buying it.

Still bitter?

Nailed it in one.

Leaving Brexit out of it, Tim Martin is an odious pr|ck, who treats his staff like sh|t.

I was speaking to the cleaner at our work who also works at the spoons at Brum Airport which she also let slip has taken 60k a day - a day - at peak trading. As covid hit, she was made redundant and sensibly cleared some debt before furlough came along. At this point, Generous Tim offered her a job back if she coughed the redundancy back which she wasnt in a position to do.

Now it has opened again, she is re-employed but on less money as she will get promoted again "after a period of time" (that old chestnut) albeit she is doing her old shift leaders job in all but name.

I'd rather drink out a tramps sock than sit on one of his gaffs.

Didn't he tell his staff to try and find new jobs in Tesco?

Someone once told me he also has very specific pouring standards as in they underpour to the limit of legality - presumably to do with size of head and glass?

I have no idea if this is true BTW. It's just what I was told.

Time to dust off the home brew kit!

That takes me back to my student days. Used to make some pretty potent stuff back in the 80's. Fun but not sure what it was doing to my liver!

Are you him? If not how do you know?

Just a fraction short on each glass would get you one or two extra pints per barrel. (BTW I was told by ex Weatherspoons staff but I choose to leave it as an open question for obvious reasons)

No, you chose to further propagate the tittle tattle on NSC. If you really believe that 'a fraction short' is given on each glass then why don't you inform Weights and Measures.

wouldnt match my observation of their pouring, same over-doing the head, topping up nonsense seen in most other pubs. a lively ale or mis-adjusted sparkler they'll be pouring 2 pints for every one served.

Weights and Measures? Have you got their contact number? Have they got an internet site for reporting such things or an 0800 number? :dunce:

But in any case how do you know I'm not lauding his cleverness? How pissed are you going to get on a couple of millimetres of beer extra?

Are you too bone idle to Google HM Weights and Measures

I hear the sound of gears being thrown into reverse, so I guess your too much of a coward to follow it up.

Can only report as I find.

Two poached eggs with perfectly runny yolks, on top of a generously thick slice of ham, warm soft muffin, hollandaise sauce and a bit of (disposable) rocket. Ticks all the boxes for me. Maybe I got lucky in the Ilfracombe branch (I don't make a habit of breakfast at a Spoons), but it was, I would say, a few degrees north of DECENT.

And for that price ? It would be idiotic not to.

Saying that Tim Martin will sell you a great Eggs Benedict for £2.99 is a bit like saying Katie Hopkins gives the greatest blowjob in the world for 50p.

Whether It's true or not really isn't relevant as anyone with any standards just wouldn't. And if you had no standards and did, you certainly wouldn't tell people on a football forum

I don't need to Google it

Weights and Measures is an ACT. It's not something you can contact.

Have a hat :dunce:
