Probably been death by statistics on NSC since Friday night, but here we go with this week's bounce.

Credit Newcastle with setting a cracking pace and to Reading for bouncing back from a 5-0 mauling.
When you compare the tables the differences year on year are fairly subtle in terms of points. Rotherham are just a little bit worse than Bolton last year. Leeds in fifth are only three points behind where Burnley were at the same stage last season, but it doesn't feel anywhere near as open. The Goal difference column really demonstrates this. The top four were all in double figures positive GD at this point. This year it is the top 2 and only inconsistent Fulham who are making any impact.
Our fabulous defence is keeping us ahead, the main concern has to be the distribution of goals. Last season we had 6 wide men all chip in with at least 2 goals over the course of the season. So far, take out Knockaert and only Murphy has scored. Dale Stephens is another lagging behind last season's effort, although Kayal's absence and heavier defensive duties may partially explain this.
