Bearing in mind we missed out by two goals last season, it's reasonably impressive we nearly made up an 11-goal deficit in four games on Boro.

We finished 6th in 1991 with a minus seven goal difference if my memory serves me correct.

Stam has done an amazing job. Other than say Mcleary and Blackett, who else would we want from their squad? Their transfer fee/player wages appears modest , in a league where others such as Newcastle, Villa, Norwich, Derby, Massive, have spent fortunes over recent transfer windows. Our wage bill is large too, and Hudd' have brought in a stack of Bundesliga players using Wagner's inside knowledge.

Against all that, Stam has kept them right up there.

Last year, Reading had the 5th highest wage bill in the Championship.

Huddersfield would need 4 massive wins, or more likely 4 wins and a draw to top this. It isn't going to happen which sets things up nicely for Monday.
