did I say that? No. I clearly did not expect it to be one. If I were to clean for 6 pound an hour I can do so for my neighbourhood, not 35 miles away. Who advertises cleaners as 'match day assistants'. Is being dam right devious but after Poyet's current treatment maybe this is standard practice

I think Albumen summed it up perfectly. Seems that your research wasn't up to scratch.

Most pointless thread I've ever read. Bitter person doesn't get offered job they feel they deserve.

Tis is why I never ****ing bother with this site anymore. Don't care if I get another ban quite frankly some of you are a waste
A sad loss and a lesson to us all.

So let me get this straight. You went for a job of what is to all intents and purposes a cleaner - with a tarted up job title of match day assistant, did some (unspecified) research, didn't read the job description or person spec, assumed it was a different job, was interviewed by the person you would be working for, answered some questions, offered some opinions, and didn't get the job.

Based on what you have posted here, I wouldn't have employed you either.

I thought I would be ushering and stewarding about. I clearly got it wrong, I was never corrected or attempted to engage in a conversation. Not my place to judge someone else's people skills but they felt lacking. Anyway it's not for me, I move on.

This. I had the interview yesterday and was surprised and a bit annoyed when they said it was a cleaning job. The job title seems a little misleading. Hopefully if I do get the job it won't be too hard to change to a stewarding role.

I wonder how much abuse you'll get compared to 1066gull.

At the risk of completely jeopardising my prospects to ever work for this club I want to bring to your attention this club has towards treating prospective employees. In my opinion they are insulting and devious but you can draw your own conclusions. I had an interview for the role of a match day assistant. Nothing else disclosed about what it involves, I do my own research which is standard of me. Arrive smart, on time and courteous. Moment I arrive to speak I am am immediately put on a pedal stool. I explain my initial expectations, which is what I think is assisting with the events of matches around the crowd. I was not corrected of this and then questioned about my knowledge of cleaning which I knew pretty well as I've been one in the past. When I then ask what I will be doing they say I will clean after matches. I am sorry but I find this utterly rude to not disclose this in the first place, it's disgraceful. I've been getting auditions and interviews for positions of 15k and I felt like the club are manipulating people to get one over. They were interviewing several prospective employees many whom appeared older and greater experience on me. To ask people to come out for a minimum wage skill is just rude. Frankly if this is how they treat potential new staff god knows how they treat their current staff. I will not be picking up someone's poo in the toilets. No pun intended.

Rant over

Perhaps the interviewer thought you were a tad to big for your boots given that you were spouting off all these big ideas to him, when for all intents and purposes you'd have been nothing more than his little bitch.

As it transpires he deemed you unworthy of even that

Genuinely the first time I recall seeing that there is a rule against insults.
Good luck with that.
This too - not that it's something I do often but are we not allowed to throw the occasional verbal brickbat anymore?

farily clear that the "research" into the role was poor due to not checking the basic infomation, found in 10 minutes. i'd imagine the interviewer thought you where wasteing their time coming to interview for different job. so, 1066gull, will you be apologising for making the accusations that were due to your mistakes?
