So can you just go down to your local sorting office and request normal post? I presume from what youre saying its already sorted, but not delivered? I live just down the road from the one by southampton airport

Don't be stupid....this is a item which has been attempted to be delivered which means it will be in the office.

The weeks mail will be sitting in Gatwick Mail centre.

As far as people who get charged extra for not paying bills because of the 4 day strikes that rubbish. If you receive a bill you get normally 14 days minimum and you could pay online or at the bank.

no the problem is people not knowing all the facts but having an opinion. Try finding out all the strings attached to the deal b4 having an opinion on which you clearly know nothing about.

No need to be rude to BAG - she is simply asking a question as to whether she will receive a service she has paid for.

And with regards to teh bills - it may only be 4 days strikes but once you add up the back log time, it will be a lot longer than that - guess everyones on a good little earner to get it all back on track again? Plenty of over time going?

True, let's all pay online or at the bank - no need for posties then.

Do you serious think the mail all comes in bagged up and ready to deliver?? I also think you're find that not many people will be doing overtime as our start time is now 1 hour and 15 minutes later which means later deliveries.

Mmmmm - tell all those people that will be receiving bank charges for overdue payments as their post hasnt arrived for over a week. But hey ho, SOME people are all right - and anyway, am sure that answered Pettits question of when the strikes over - The 'I'm all right jack' is always a good answer :thud:
My utility bills arrive by email and payments are made by direct debit. I think the postmen are right to strike and don't know why my particular postman isn't striking or even if he's in the union.

Sorry if my post gets up some people's noses. I'm just typing the truth.

But that's what you get with Union leaders who can't put across your side of the argument properly. Are you sure you are getting your monies worth from them?

Yep - and it all comes sorted by coloured envelopes as well - Pete delivers the blue ones, Roger the yellow ones and Pete the pink ones.

Like loads of people have alread said - it makes no odds what time of day the post is deivered as the majority of people are at work when it happens so dont see it till they come home anyway - the day of getting post at a decent time is long gone. So you may start later - you get a lay in -big deal, whats the problem? As with most jobs - circumstances change with the company, if your not prepared to change and move forward - leave! No ones forcing you to work there are they

Its funny how people slag the posties off but 99% of them don't even realise whats really going on.

Nope - your SO right - no one has any idea of what is happening with business's at the moment. As mentioned before - if you dont like the changes, leave. No one is forcing you to work there

The thing is - i have no idea how it all works - it's got to be sorted somewhere - and i thought the most logical way is for it to be sorted in one location, then sorted in somewhere more local - or am i stupid for thinking that?
