My postman (the usual one) is brilliant, gets to know everyones faces and if I'm just walking out the flat (and he's got something that won't go through the postbox), if he sees me makes sure he calls out.

What gets on my nerves is the statistics that get thrown out about how much money these strikes cost business.

What about the money that public services actually generate for the private sector, by delivering cheques and getting people to work on time (in the example of tube drivers).

F*cks me off people complaining about how much money tube drivers get paid, I always say if it pisses you off so much then go and do the job yourself.

Judging by your sig NMH you're serviced by a 'rural' depot.
These are the smallest of the small, some of which, maybe Henfield, sort local agreements with RM, from the outset with no Union representation.
Unfortunately for them doing a deal with the devil, so to speak, looks like it's going to come back and bite them, as to believe the Union they are now requesting meetings.

Should there be further axe swinging, chances are these small outposts (in prime real estate) will go, and your nearest depot will become Shoreham.

I had post on Friday, Saturday and today.

Mt postie can't afford to go on strike. She has a disabled husband to support and a mortgage to pay. Rehardless of whether she agrees with the strike or not, she can't afford to lose the money.

I for one think the post workers do an excellent job. We should be on their side supporting them and fighting for a better public utility...not slagging them off.

If Crozier gets his way and ruins the Post Office, or we have a confusing myriad of private and self-serving companies in its place, then you will be able to complain.

We're in Hampshire and are getting post as well. Far, far earlier than usual. He normally rolls up to my door at about 3pm. He has already been this morning, same postie as normal.

Sorry maybe that came across a bit rude.

I just mean surely no-one can afford it. Its a case of sticking together and doing what you feel is right. RM are trying to ruin this company/job and the posties who are striking are just sticking up for themselves.

Unfortunately its the posties who get all the anger from the public and RM get away with it.

I don't know any dates but apparently there could be one a week.

Worringly JB I have just recieved my post.
My depot has (I thought) a few staff, mainly newbies coming in, to sort, but if the post is getting out, is this the beginning of the end? I always thought 4 days was asking to much, I know I really had to think about it.
I think the Union may well have shot itself in the foot.

Exactly I have lost around £500 from the strikes in the summer and I will lose the same amount roughly for the two 48 hour strikes. I can't afford it either but I value my pension and working rights highly.
