I think ultimately the national league is their ceiling, they would struggle to compete in that league IMO.
yes you're probably right

National league would be an amazing achievement for Worthing, and there is a chance they could do it, so I'll be getting behind them starting tonight. In the long term the ground would need to change, but they have put in a second turnstile entrance, together with the facility to segregate if requested/required. Reckon if they make it, crowds could be up to around an average of 2000, and there are plenty of sides in the NL with lower averages than that. If they make it, It'll come down to whether the finances are available for the playing squad as to whether they could sustain that level. It'll be fun finding out though.

Anyone recall Goldstone north stand when Worthing fans would gather one side and Eastbourners the other and charge each other sometimes? I wonder how many Albion fans are from Worthing area? Is there a study anywhere that's been published how many Albion's fans are in each town area? I seem to recall long way back we had lots of fans in Horsham area. When I travel to Falmer from LA there are certainly far more BHA thank Port5cumouthy fans if we ever play at home on same day.
I've always thought the border is Bognor, which is full of Pompey, I know a lot of our away fans who hail from Worthing. The most I know are from Hove. To be brutally honest I know the least amount of people from Brighton in our away support.

Even for the NLS, they need to put 4 more in in the next 2 years. If they go up, they'll need a total of 8 for the ground.

A lot of work will be needed if they go up.

Comical commentary from Worthing v Braintree; a few pitch invaders. Security asking fans to not change ends at HT to avoid more chaos in the ground. Midway through 2nd half Worthing 2-1 ahead after the away GK apparently OG'd. Attendance 1k more than Saturday. Winners away to Oxford on Saturday.

Commentator did say Sunday initially I'm sure as I typed that then later a couple of times said Saturday so I edited my post above. If you are going that way definitely check what day and KO; commentator last said he thinks its 3.30pm ko on Saturday!

I am living in Bognor and know of at least 5 Brighton fans but as you say the majority are presumably Pompey although I think I have seen more London based team shirts being warn in the town.

2,678 in attendance. Must be tight!
According to Google that ground can hold 4000…. Maybe if it was an anorexia convention. :lolol:

One of my pals is good friends with the chairman so we always stand behind the dugouts near him. Even there it was touch and go. Not sure where the other 1400 would have stood!

Much better match than I expected from a play-off game. Lots of twists and turns, could have finished 4-3 if it wasn’t for some valiant defending and some awful finishing.

I absolutely detest VAR but the Braintree #4 getting away with GBH off the ball in the first half did kind of make me realise there are some incidents where it would be handy. 50 foot from the ball and just randomly swings an elbow in to someone’s jaw. Ref was looking the other way but not sure how the lino on the far side and the 4th official missed it. I hope his journey home takes especially long.

Only downside was someone tagged me and the @jackalbion in the same tweet asking if we were going so was excited to formally meet him but Brad is a Pompey prick so it didn’t happen.

Anyway, up the Rebels. What a job George Dowell, Hinsh & everyone else have done. A brilliant first season at this level whatever happens but two games to make history now

it's apparently around 4,000 but I've been in crowds of about 2,200 and it was absolutely rammed. I reckon 2,500 is realistically the limit of what it can actually accommodate
Yes, same as Lewes. The ground capacity is 3000 or something but in effect you can only have 2500

Great 2nd half last night after a very scrappy first. Great crowd too, and despite what people are saying there really was plenty more room behind the west goal. Also, on the north terrace, it was busy, but again, room for a fair few more. In the first half we were at the 'wrong end' and there was plenty of space, in the second half when loads moved down to what became the 'right end' we never felt overcrowded.
