I wasn't there so am not going to complain about tonights performance. I only mentioned about playing for a nil nil as that is plainly obvious what has happened from most peoples reports on here.
Tranny will obviously be happy with getting a goalless draw and it sounded like they were going for just a point overall. Is it 2 points dropped so that we win the next 4 matches or is the season already bolloxed ?

Hang on, this is one of the few home games I've missed so far this season. Please don't tar me with the same brush as the people who don't attend games and still call for change. Like I said I won't comment on this game but a fair few I've been to have been pretty poor. Usually with negative substitutions or ones that have been made half hour too late.

Well those "fair few" were miles out in their summary.

They're wrong. trust me. It wasn't a good game and there wasn't an abundence of scoring opportunities, but without doubt no-one was playing for a nil-nil draw.

We played deep the whole of the second half.

We brought on Hart with less than 15 mins to go who then played far deeper than Murray had been.

We reacted to their acting substition in the final five by strengthening our defense rather than making an attacking change.

Look at it whatever way you like, IMO Wilkins played for the draw.

So Forsters run that nearly went in was playing for a 0 - 0 draw was it ?

you cannot judge a game on one moment in the match - otherwise your point could be easily countered with what about when bowditch was going forward in the first half, and we had what must have been a 4 on 4 in their half, but instead of going forward the ball ended up going all the way back to kuipers

i dont think we went out there looking to draw the game from the start, but as it progressed we seemed more and more happy to just take the point - the fact robinson didnt come on summed that up

Well it's a good job we buggered up all those goal scoring opportunities or the boss would have been furious.

What absolute nonsense.

Guys if you don't like it then fine but leave quietly as it is so boring hearing the rubbish you all post.

:clap2:

Some posters won't be missed if they stop going. I mean, a 0-0 draw is not uncommon in the game, and since Tranmere are no pushover and had chances of their own - a fair result.

The ref blew for too many things I will say. If a tackle was fair, but 'didn't look great' to him, he blew his whistle. THAT was the only spoiler.

I wasn't entirely happy with the way we played tonight - I though in general; the game was pretty negative, but I do think the original post is a massive over-reaction.

As you state, Tranmere are in the play off positions, so they are clearly no pushover, and they also clearly came for the draw as they really didn't push forward at all. Tonight I think it was a case of comign up against a very well organised defense and not really having enough to make decent chances.

I think the reasons for the substitutions have been covered. I was dissapointed not to see Robinson for 15 minutes. I'm normally pretty critical of him, and he certainly wouldn't be in my team, but as a substitute he is a decent option who can inject some life into the game, especially on the back of a fantastic goal against Cheltenham.

I don't think the match tonight was too bad - it certainly wasn't the most exciting football we've seen, but we never looked like conceding, it was simply a case of not creating enough chances. However the time to judge Wilkins is after these five home games. It might be that tonight against a high-flyer, with a heavy fixture list ahead of us, the win wasn't the most important. If we don't go all out to beat Cheltenham then I will start to get a bit restless.

...can we really be swayed by those that do not attend ?

I'm not especially fussed either way, as I gave up attending games 2 seasons ago.

But unless the club is satisfied with home gates of 4000+, surely the opinions of those who once attended but no longer do so are worth listening to? It costs nothing.

Agree with the post, but i wont be given up just yet and i dont think you will either WW.

What annoyed me tonight was that Kuipers took AGES take ALL goal kicks. We're meant to be pushing for a win and he was taking a life time about it.

Not suggesting the season is bolloxed at all yet, if we win are games in hand then we are back up with a shout. Its not panic time yet.

How desperate are you to prove a point?

Jeez...does it matter how long a person has supported this club, or how many programmes and match-day burger boxes they have collected??

No it doesn't!

I'm with Beachy on this one.

and maybe you are at a stage in your life when you don't want to spend a massive amount of money watching rather poor grade football.

think you're probably like a lot of people in regards to that.

but do you really have to whine on and on - it really is a bit boring.
