Here we go again. I have explained numerous times that not all public sector workers should be lumped together.
5.9 million. Almost 2 million of which are employed by local government. We have not been offered 'way above inflation pay rises'.
And even if you look at the public sector as one (the whole 5.9m together).... from the BBC
So - a question for you to answer given the above. Why do you believe that public sector workers should suffer yet further below inflation pay rises?

The answer is that if you believe that public sector employment is wrong, and that doctors, nurses, the police, the fire service, social services, highway maintenance, teachers, the armed forces and the judiciary should sink or swim in the market economy, then they should certainly not get pay rises from the public purse.
If, on the other hand, you consider that a little bit of national infrastructure, service, and indeed Socialism are good for the nation, then the poor bastards working in these sectors need to be paid properly.
(and if anyone tells me that one of their unions has been overrun by Trained Marxists again . . . . .

In post #1511 and your reply #1512 the BMA and its leadership were discussed. It reminded me of recent events where its leadership, The Council, were accused by members of being secretive and wholly unrepresentative of its membership on puberty blockers. In #1511 they’re accused of not being moderate. Imho the relevance is that the leadership have revealed themselves as being unrepresentative.
The GMC and its responsibilities weren’t mentioned in the nsc chat or the media articles about the BMA Council.
