There’s a growing schism within the BMA. Regarding puberty blockers, the leadership have decided they know better than the well received Cass Review, NHS England, members, and 23 current or former clinical leaders at Royal Colleges. This was widely reported.

I thought the conversation was about Labour being hand in trouser with militant Marxist unionist buddies ???

Not sure what medical guidance on puberty blockers has got to do with that.

That's a GMC issue surely?

Why would Lynch not vehemently oppose murderous facsists?
Another person utterly irrelevant to 'The Labour Government'.

As we appear to be in thread derailment mode, whatbout the Tory opposition? ???

It was a somewhat strange comment - and it's good to have some adults back in the room.

However, it's very clear where the new Govt. priorities lie.

Settle all strikes (Teachers/Train Drivers/Doctors) by paying way above inflation pay rises - after all who do you think the 5.9 million public sector workers voted for?
Who do you think finances the Labour Party?

Tories - in the pocket of their 'mates' in the City and big business.
Labour - in the pocket of the Unions.

Not sure which is worse.
Here we go again. I have explained numerous times that not all public sector workers should be lumped together.

5.9 million. Almost 2 million of which are employed by local government. We have not been offered 'way above inflation pay rises'.

And even if you look at the public sector as one (the whole 5.9m together).... from the BBC

So - a question for you to answer given the above. Why do you believe that public sector workers should suffer yet further below inflation pay rises?

Very well presented.

The answer is that if you believe that public sector employment is wrong, and that doctors, nurses, the police, the fire service, social services, highway maintenance, teachers, the armed forces and the judiciary should sink or swim in the market economy, then they should certainly not get pay rises from the public purse.

If, on the other hand, you consider that a little bit of national infrastructure, service, and indeed Socialism are good for the nation, then the poor bastards working in these sectors need to be paid properly.

(and if anyone tells me that one of their unions has been overrun by Trained Marxists again . . . . . :shootself )

In post #1511 and your reply #1512 the BMA and its leadership were discussed. It reminded me of recent events where its leadership, The Council, were accused by members of being secretive and wholly unrepresentative of its membership on puberty blockers. In #1511 they’re accused of not being moderate. Imho the relevance is that the leadership have revealed themselves as being unrepresentative.

The GMC and its responsibilities weren’t mentioned in the nsc chat or the media articles about the BMA Council.

Because he's a classic Tankie, sadly.
Although his deputy makes him look positively cuddly

It’s weird how these people and their many UK apologists would claim they’re men of the common people. Yet that approach to humanity doesn’t extend to the Uyghurs or Ukrainians subject to genocide, death squads or industrial scale rape.

Very revealing on the soul. Or lack of.

Well, exactly.
It's so grindingly predictable too

I'm bored with the labour baiting (by proxy - oooh, look at that union). Save it till there is something to whine about.

Yet more good news under a Labour government. Socialism is everything I thought it would be.

It’s like the Sue Gray stuff, hilarious really, like no other PM has ever had a chief of staff or early wranglings of who has which desk and office.

We can make a joke of it here, ha ha ha Sue Gray is in power, but there is something more insidious about how our press operate behind their powerful owners. But let’s worry more about Mick Lynch…

Haha, I didn’t know that, but then again , some people on here can get a bit Po Faced about light hearted remarks they don’t approve of.
