This is what I was told but disappointed not to be able to get seagulls player on iPad - can anyone confirm that you can't watch it unless you pay for the football league app subscription? Iplayer is fine but I paid for an annual subscription for more than 60 seconds of highlights.

Well that proves everything but completely ignores the history between the two companies.
Advances in HTML will make the argument somewhat irrelevant, but do some more reading and don't fall for everything Apple tell you.
I should have added the caveat, one stoopid question answered my lead to more stoopid questions.
Assuming given the choice, watching a film on a 44'' screen is preferable, and not being an avid photographer.
Tablets (the I-pad) is good for mooching around t'internet, social media, twitter et al, anywhere. And emails.

Like I said, it was mainly for the wife as she was nagging for one. I was looking forward to seeing what it could do, and er, well, ive found out its not alot. It's not worth the hype. I am merely telling you my thoughts after dipping my toe for the first and last time in the Apple non ipod market. As I suspected there are lots of things out there that are much better. The browser on my android phone is better than the iPad. Fact.

Which part of "i didn't hear it from Apple" don't you understand?
I use both windows and Macs - There is very little I prefer of windows over Macs and the few advantages seem to be fading fast.
It seems to me that when Apple find something its beaten on they solve it and make it better on the next generation - With Windows you get another platform with a new version of the same problem
But what if you have neither?
And being a tubby postie have no real need for anything, other than portable general t'internet browsing.

Wasn't the spat a lot to do with the fact that Apple wanted a better customer experience than Flash provided - Using windows you might not know what that is with all the crashes!

I'm not emotional at all, just telling it how it is. I know those of you duped into thinking it is a top bit of kit for the money struggle to accept criticism of the device. I am quite relaxed, I am also going to buy the samsung galaxy tablet which is cheaper and will actually work with hard drives, my tv, and allow websites too work properly. My wife can use the iPad as I just find it frustrating.
