I’m terrified of John McDonnell as well.

Well his policies actually.

A far more dangerous politician than Corbyn......

I'm not going back more than 1 page, so forgive the probable 'fixtures':-

That head replacement of him dancing with the mic had me in stitches. I don’t normally like these mash up things but that dancing with the mic part was exceptional.

East Worthing and Shoreham is a big target for Labour. 10% swing toward Labour in 2017 reducing a 15,000 majority to 5000. Lib Dems have 5% of the vote at best and a non starter. So you probably are correct. I'd hate for you to put Corbyn in no.10 though. :hilton:

I know it is - it's the example I often use when I try to explain why I don't think any vote is wasted. Even as recently as 2015, you'd have said it was a safe seat with no chance of anything other than a Tory return. But those who voted Labour last time should have given belief to others that a vote for Labour in the constituency is anything but wasted.

I'd hate to give Corbyn, McDonnell and Abbott any power over this country, which makes it a real toughie.

Anti-Brexit campaigner Steve Bray is to stand for Parliament for the Lib Dems.

The activist is a familiar figure in Westminster where he regularly bellows his 'Stop Brexit' message through a megaphone outside the House of Commons.

He has been selected to fight the seat of Cynon Valley in south Wales. It has been held by Labour for more than 30 years but its longstanding MP Ann Clwyd has retired and is not standing again.

The Lib Dems have vowed to cancel Brexit if they win power.

The party's leader Jo Swinson dismissed suggestions Mr Bray's candidacy was a stunt, saying the Lib Dems needed people prepared to put themselves on the line to stop the UK leaving the EU.

"He cannot be accused of not being committed to his cause," she said. "To have candidates who care so passionately about that is a positive."

Lib Dems showing their blue colours again.

Tim Walker dropped out of Canterbury Lab/Tor marginal to prevent a Tory gain.

Lib Dems now say they will choose a replacement candidate to contest it.

If it wasn't already, Farage and his party are turning this election into a farce, Brexit now this, our MP's in all parties are a joke.
If there was a huge groundswell of people not voting as s protest that politicians do not deserve our vote, I would be in.

Who says the pound will be stronger and the economy will grow faster out than if we were in the EU? So we are free to trade elsewhere, does that mean we will get better trade deals outside the EU then we could in it. Of those countries in the WTO, 58 have free trade agreements with the EU and another 47 have preferential access. So, we can do our own deals but there is no guarantee we are going to get the same or better terms than we have now. God help us when we try to negotiate with the US!!!!

Not so. There is pretty much a cast-iron guarantee that we will get worse terms for all of it, or all of it that matters. We are quitting deals which were negotiated by shit-hot negotiators, who had the immense clout of the single market to back them up. The deals which replace these (if, that is, there are deals at all) will be on worse terms for much the same reason that King Canute got his feet wet - it's just how the world works.

The fact that we will be negotiating from a position of *relative* weakness, and in a state of need bordering on desperation, is only going to make things worse. Having been a top-tier economy for several hundred years, we've voted for relegation to the second tier and that's where we're going to stay. Anyone who thinks that will lead to a stronger pound or increased growth is delusional.
