The living wage is meaningless guff. So few companies pay it. Raise minimum wage to the same rate. Then I’ll be impressed.
It is entirely irrelevant anyway. They have zero intention of implementing it. 'if economic conditions allow'...
As if.

What is it with Tory leaders? Back in the day John Major (who doesn't seem half so bad now) told us we were a nation of cycling spinsters, cricket and warm beer. Today the buffoon Boris announced that this is the beginning of a new Golden Age.
What is he expecting? The London gangs will lay down their knives. The industrial wastelands on the north will regenerate.
The corporate crooks will stop looking for a short-term profit and will instead reinvest for the long term. Universities - stripped of much of their talent and research funding by Brexit - will redouble their scholarship simply because we have a Tory government. The poor will take to doffing their caps as an Eton-educated toff walks past. Hardened criminals will develop a social conscience, hardly daring to lose their opportunities in Boris's brave new Britain by continuing their lives of crime. We will all order our drinks in a pub - and sing our football chants - through the medium of Latin.
I'm not sure what is worse - is he a cynical, lying scumbag. Or does he really believe this Golden Age garbage?
Can anyone help to flesh out his vision better than me and do it full justice?
