NSC certainly isn't short of people who think they are in some way superior and better-informed on political matters than the rest of the population ... while consistently proving the opposite is true.

Thanks. I think that over the years on NSC, for all the informative posts from which one can genuinely learn, I have been really surprised and disappointed at the posters, and they are usually leftie/liberal, who consider themselves to be superior to millions of others, and so belong to the few not the many. That is the right way round, isn't it?

Update. Boris has sent his dad to get his way into the climate debate. Getting Daddy to do your dirty work now.

His best chance of winning is to stay out of the way.... just as he did in the Leadership Debate.

Indeed. I suspect if Boris hides in No 10 until election day he will lose few votes. Corbyn would do well to do the same. This must be an indictment of them both as individuals but perhaps also the way we view these election campaigns. It shouldn't be about personalities over policy. There seems to be far bigger furore over whether someone does or doesn't appear at the behest of a TV company than their party's policies and misinformation on the economy, unions, NHS, climate change or business.

I've long believed we get the politicians we deserve, but maybe we also get the elections we deserve too

Daddy must have got him out the shit as an undergraduate at Oxford after a night out with his Bullingdon Club chums from school a fair few times, so why not try it with a live TV debate as PM 35 years later?

Where is your evidence for this sweeping generalisation?

Where is your evidence for this extreme generalisation?

Read post 4708 to get you started. You only have to read the posts on here for your evidence. By the way, it is not an extreme generalisation; relatively few posters are such, but of those the worst offenders tend to be leftie/liberal.

I appreciate this wont be as interesting to many on here as it doesn't involve the Labour Party, but The SNP have just suspended their candidate for Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath over alleged antisemitism. The SNP are now endorsing the Greens to unseat shadow Scottish secretary Lesley Laird.

That is interesting, a anecdote from a constituency in Scotland. The SNP have tried to turn this on its head emphasising that unlike another party, they take decisive action. No love lost from the SNP to Scottish Labour, they compete for the same Central Belt seats.

I'm no expert on all this superiority stuff but surely the word 'simple' was first used in this case by Dominic Cummings? He certainly fits your description of a man who considers himself to be superior to millions of others - he's proudly accepted lying to them - but I 'm not sure The Great Disruptor would describe himself as a leftie.

I am surprised that no party jumped on an obvious vote winner ......reduce the prescription charges per item for those that have to pay.

It has been covered. Turns out 90% of prescriptions are issued ‘free’, due to a raft of medical exemptions, the young, over 60, or on one of many state benefits. Hence the lack of interest by parties.

That'll soon change if Boris gets his way...

Funny how these champions of democracy, Farage and Johnson, don’t seem prepared to defend their manifestos or even stand in a democratic election.

Farage continuing to lick Johnson's arse. "Look at me, I'm not going either just like you."
