They've gone and arranged our Christmas office lash-up for election night................................not sure whether that's good news or bad. I guess can have a load of drink, then find a place showing it and stay up all night..........
I love election night, and think this one will be even more fascinating than usual - shocks all over the place perhaps (in many directions). Can see the polls being wildly out this time, and all the key players are one colossal gaffe away from potentially wild swings

I've not read the finer details on that, but from the bits I have seen, it certainly seems to be duplicitous, yes.

(Sorry for disappointing you and not trying to find an excuse)

Not disappointing at all - I know you are no friend of Boris. I'm just picking up on you chosing to refute one of CHAPPERS twitter shared posts, which I can agree with you on, they can't know every detail (unless you're Diane Abbott who very much needs to know every fact, figure, and detail). I was just intrigued that given the post you picked up was part of an after speech Q&A, the nurses statement post was a key part of the so called 'manifesto' or more accurately, just the next budget summary, clearly aimed at tackling the impression the Conservatives don't care about the NHS. That would have been worked over in great painstaking detail as a headline grabber, and it is fundamentally duplicitous. Needs to be called out because it is so blatant.

I am with you on this. I think the point is that when someone is spaffing lies, you call it. When they are accused of spaffing lies when they are actually simply being a bit dim and hopeful owing to short attention span, not really caring and that, it is not helpful to attack the clown for being a liar.

He is a liar and will be a liar but he isn't always lying.

If you hate Boris (like I do) then it is counterproductive to inflate his every foible....it will only make those who like Boris think he's hard done by. And that won't do.

I hadn't seen the post on the nursing figures. I keep telling myself that I'm not coming back to this thread, and then I get sucked in again!

Let's see how long I last this time...

There was a lady from Yorkshire interviewed yesterday who said "I know he lies and can't be trusted, but I still like him".

I actually laughed for a second, then realised that this is reflective of the electorate as a whole. I don't think many care about being lied to.

Because you're interested in politics - because you care! :D

Because of the bile and intolerance of people who are incapable of at least allowing others to have an opinion which is different from their own.

To respond in such a trivial way to an election that will affect the lives of so many people is a bit disingenuous, don't you think? Have another go.......

fatigue? tie in to the point above about when something is a lie or simply incorrect, then the perpetual use of hyperbolic terms. it starts to wash over people.

Ours was also in for the 12th...........in Buckinghamshire. With no hotel allowance. :lolol:

Easiest no show I've ever had. "Sorry I have to work from home and vote". Thursday night will be spent in front ot the telly, perhaps with something cold, and I'll still be less tired and hungover than my colleagues in the morning!

Something makes me keep trying to read that as a limerick.

There once was a lady from Leeds
Who loved to read fake Twitter feeds
I think it's all bullshit
She said, and she knew it
But Corbyn's supporters smoke weed

Maybe.... but if you think that the result of the election will be something to gloat about (however it goes) then I am genuinely dismayed.
Are you a gloater?

Not a gloater, but a realist.
I do hope, however, that Labour lose, Corbyn and McDonnell are consigned to the history books, the Labour Party come to their senses, and once again become a centre left party that appeals to the more moderate left leaning citizens of this country and so becomes electable.
