wartched it again cos i too missed that, but he vanished as he knew the truth
my guess is he may as well regenerate as that body is dying, but i would just love it if john simm returned
Hey 1066gull, you know your 'Who', there's one thing recently that's puzzled me. After meeting the Doctor (Eccleston) Queen Victoria set up Torchwood partly because she wanted an organistion which could protect Britain against aliens such as the Doctor. How do they explain the fact that during the time of Jon Pertwee's Doctor and his close collaboration with UNIT Torchwood was never mentioned? You'd think that somebody might once have said "Let's see if Torchwood know anything about this."

Kinda reminds me of a thought I keep having.
Wasn't there an episode of Star Trek TNG where they inserted the crew into an old episode of Shatner era star trek?
I seem to recall reading that John Simms had stated he wouldn't want to do work with another actor as The Doctor as he felt he should remain David Tennant's Master.I imagine into the next series, if the filming overlapped and John Simms was avalible.
Also thought it was okay but not the best, will see how the new writer/director does in the sping, he wrote the 'don't blink' episode I think so will hopefully deliver some more of that.
Could/Should they do something similar with Dr Who? i.e. Have the current doctor input into an old episode of the show?
There was an episode with all the former doctors in, the ones who were still alive that is.

Thanks for the replies (and you Danny). Yeah, I guess it IS a TV show about time travel that's being going on for 30 years (not counting the break before Eccleston) so I suppose the odd query is understandable - and can be explained by the fact that as the Doctor goes back and forth time keeps changing anyway.Last of the Timelords
-The Doctor reverses time to the actual point of the president being assassinated, whilst being in the same room which said happened.
The only good true continuity of time travel I have seen is in Farscape (3.5 Different Destinations), they Time Traveled by accident after exploring history and manage to finally keep the timeline intact, but differently in a way that would devastate them. A bit like the Doctor causing events to unfold I suppose.
I also remember years ago (can't remember which Doctor) that a specific limit was stated as to how often a Time Lord could regenerate. I THINK it was nine, so that's another 'rule' they've broken!
