I loved it!

I thought David Tennant and Bernard Cribbins had some fantastic, heartstring tugging scenes over both episodes and their performances were incredible. There were probably faults, but overall I thought it was a fantastic episode if only for the Wilf/Doctor scenes.

All a bit of a jumble imho but I still enjoyed it. Like beer, there are no bad Doctor Who episodes just some that are better than others!

I am sure the new Doctor will be fine - the show is bigger than the actor playing the Doctor and provided the scripts are good all will be fine.

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
Didn't understand or follow the plot. It seemed very messy, rushed and incoherent

It was okayish until the threat of the Master/Time Lords was overcome, but that maudlin and rubbish ending revisiting his chums and doshing out winning lottery tickets?

Crikey.5th form essay at best.

Yes, it was very moving in places, Tennant will be VERY hard to replace.

Geronimo!?

I think this episode was a lot lot better, but tbh it will be very hard to top Voyage of the Damned....

Ha! I nearly did like a gay when I anticipated him to fall to the ground in the snow!! :p

Loved the Captain Jack reference.

Cant understand why the tardis disintegrated when he regenerated though? it didnt happen when the ninth regenerated and looks like in the spring he is rebuilding a new tardis

Creative licence to let them give the show a new look and new feeling with the new doctor and new production team. If they bother with an explanation it'll probably involve him being supercharged by the radiation making it a more powerful regeneration.

I had the prickly eyes when Wilf saluted the Doctor leaving at the wedding, and at various times after depending on the musical score.

Not entirely convinced about the Pertwee/Troughton look of the next Doctor but will give it a fair chance (presuming Matt's opening titles don't scare me off like Pertwee's did when I first started watching :) )

Actually I liked that 'nod to the past'. After all despite all the regenerations he IS supposed to be the same person and so it's understandable (and indeed necessary to keep the continuity of the character) that different facets of his personality will keep resurfacing in the different regenerations.

On a general point as others have said I thought the whole thing was ok, but the ending was a bit maudlin. I appreciate there was a production need to tie up all the loose ends so the new team have a fresh slate but I'd rather it hadn't been SO hammy. And I too wondered who 'the woman' was; it could be his mother (by Time Lord standards he is 'nearly middle aged' as Tom Baker once said to Sarah Jane) or it could be Susan or his wife or sister, etc etc. However that is one loose end I hope they leave untied. Somebody once said if they ever fully explain how he came to be living as an old man with his granddaughter in London in 1963 that will be the final end of the show.
