Cable won for me as well. He gave clear and concise answers and I believed what he was saying.

I'd put osbourne and darling on level third place, I just don't believe that either of them are telling the truth.

I don't intend to vote for any of their parties but again I'd say Cable clearly came out best - The Tories are going to struggle if the British public just see PR man Cameron and greasy arrogant Osborne as their front men. Darling also looked fairly nervous about the whole thing.

Cable for me and I am generally a Labour supporter. Mind you it was always going to be easier for him as he was able to take the moral high ground on the financial crisis and knows that he is unlikely to ever have to implement any promises he makes.
I thought Darling was tentative, appeared evasive at times, and missed a few tricks, one of which was not pointing out that a lot of private businesses have been reliant on public sector investment.
I can't see how anyone could have been convinced by clueless Tory Boy, however I know I am biased.

Cable was the clear winner, I thought Darling came across as reasonable and honest (if a little stuttery in places) whereas Osbourne was unspecific, patronising (yes, I know what IMF stands for!) and, above all, SMUG.

I thought the remark in Osbourne's closing address to Cable that the Liberals had no chance of being in government after the election was crass given the plausible outcome of a hung Parliament. Maybe Osbourne fears Cable might nick his job?...

Always favoured the Tories, but am swaying towards the Lib Dems after Cable's good display tonight.

I thought Osbourne came off the worst to be honest, plus he talks like a pompous twat.

I thought the crassest moment of the whole thing was when Osbourne threw in his slogan, we are all in it together.

Who do we believe?

Osborne with his promise of efficiency savings to fund a Tory tax cut?

Or the guy who said "The government ‘efficiency drive’ is one of the oldest tricks in the book. The trouble is, it’s nearly always just that – a trick. In fact it’s such a cliché, there was an episode of Yes Minister about it, called ‘The Economy Drive.’ Ministers are summoned, officials instructed, the media prepared for sweeping savings in the running costs of government. And then, a few months down the line, the sheepish-looking ministers and officials come back and say 'well actually, it wasn’t quite as straightforward as we’d hoped, Prime Minister.' " ?

Personally, I think Cameron was right and Osborne is talking bollocks.

"When you find yourself in the heat of an election campaign on national TV trying to explain the minutiae of how you are going to save £5 million here and £10 million there, then you are losing the argument. I know. I've been there.” - George Osborne, speech to Social Market Foundation, September 7 2005.

OK, George. You're right about that. You are losing the argument.

Its clear that those who have their hatred carried it on and did not actually listen to what was being said.

Darling - a little nervous and fulffed his words a few times but kept to his policies right or wrong and came across as genuine , main gaff - Osborne telling him they stole their £ 250k stamp duty idea of 2 years ago , Darling replied " cross policy co operation George ", admitting to stealing the idea - 6.5

Cable - assured and concise but in reality did not say anything much different to the other, main gaff - tired and cliched attack of Tories looking after their rich friends when Osborne said exactly yhe opposite all evening - 7.5

Osborne - held his nerve well, outlined his ideas and differences with Campbell well, main gaff - writing off the Lid Dems in his closing speech, its probably true but the public don't like being told a 3rd party will have no chance - 7.3

Cable came across well as expected.
Darling did better than I thought he would have.
Osbourne seemed to have even less about him than I thought.

Would have to disagree about that being a gaff - Darling got a good laugh from the audience for that remark.

He still admitted to stealing the Tory policy. Its funny how you perceive it, if it had been Osborne doing that you would have perceived it completely differently and slagged him off. These debates are all pretty pointless anyway. The lefties on here will just believe what they want. What Osborne actually said you would have thought would have been applauded especially re the nhs, lower earners, taxing the higher earners etc but as usual this is ignored or the old " they have no policies " or " they are all posh and speak with funny accents " comes out.
