This, had enough of it now. Please can we have some warm spring weather followed by a hot summer? Oh I forgot, we live in the UK, cold and wet it is for the rest of the year then!

There is a weak correlation between cold / wet springs and warm / dry summers...

Not quite out of the blue, but a little surprisingly, the latest GFS cranks up the snow risk down here on Saturday. The models have been progressively showing the fronts and milder air being pushed further South so whereas the snow was forecast for Northern England and Scotland, it's much further South.

This is from this mornings GFS, for Saturday

The ensemble shows that it's not without support, with 40-50% chances.

All to play for.

Make it stop Papa, PLEASE just make it BLOODY STOP.

Winter is getting right on my tits now.

Sadly, I don't make the weather... I just (try to) forecast it.

My gut feeling is for cold rain here from much of this. Just feel the snow action will be further north.

I wouldn't mind so much if we'd been having cold, bright, sunny days, but this miserable murky drabness is just soul destroying.

Roll on summer.

This - I can handle chilly, even Google cold, if there is a blue sky and some sunshine. It was like this a few Sundays ago in Seaford, icy wind but the place was busy because people just wanted to get out into the winter sun - I even had an ice cream!

Sussex are playing their first game in a couple of weeks, usually around this time of year were in the late teens in terms of temperature.

(On this date last year it was 18 degrees).

The cold is getting me down, quite literally, leaving at just before 8 each morning, it's always a really awful, depressing, dark walk. It should be spring.

Awful, awful shite.

papa, couple of questions (3 actually)

1, What will the weather be like for Chelmsford over the weekend?
2, What will the weather be like in Lille this weekend?
3, Will Gus stay?

Thanks

There's an advertising slogan there somewhere...

Papa Lazarou doesn't make winters, but if he did, it would be a Marks & Spencers winter

It already is an M&S winter - it's bloody expensive to heat my house!

The latest model output has firmed up on the Easterly blast from Sunday.

See the GFS ensemble as a good example.

Meteociel - Diagrammes GEFS

Good snow chances from late Saturday (as the fronts get pushed back down from the North) and on and off to Wednesday.

It's almost a carbon copy of the snow event last week... possibly less cold here.

Saturday overnight into Sunday looks most likely. Sunday's going to be COLD. Temps not getting much above freezing, with a biting Easterly wind.
