We had 20-25ish minutes of heavy-ish snow just before 9 and it did settle on the roads and paths. But then the sun came out and anything the sun has touched it has pretty much all gone....however the sun has disappeared now and the sky is very white again so there could be some more on the way.

Looks like I timed my dog walk to perfection.

From 2pm tomorrow.

Fantastic Winter Holiday Weather.

This week - but of course, we're going away at the end of it....

Pah! This is Crowborough. It's got its own micro climate. We could get snow any time. We weren't supposed to have it this morning.

Saturday I left the ground about an hour after the game had finished, walked across to the uni to get my car and it was sleeting but very wet sleet. Was like that all the way back until I got about a mile from home then all of a sudden the verges were white and the sleet was turning into big flakes. We had about an inch and it took me nearly as long to do three drops around town as it did getting back from Brighton.

The only remote chance we have of snow down here is with an east or north east wind which is very rare. Any other wind direction there is a zero chance. Saturday will be 5 c with cold rain

There's always the possibility of a well-placed channel low running into an in-situ cold air mass.

Now getting excited about some flumppage on Wednesday.

I’m also prepared to be disappointed.

Yeah, me too. I'm expecting the models to have predicted the system passing too far north and the snow will mostly land in the channel / France.

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
Three nights in a row of flumping - that is unheard of round here. I'm running out of space to put it as every time a clear the driveway another load is dumped on.

Bloody foreign snow, coming over here…

Looking like some favoured spots along the coast might see some snow tomorrow. Still a chance for more widespread snow on the coastal zone and even possibly as far North as London (lower chance) and also it could all end up too far South or just too warm. We wait to see.

Favoured spots means hills, by the way.

Heard some talk about Friday, how’s that looking?

Still a little early. The raw GFS data has it less likely than tomorrow, but the range of different outcomes is higher, from hardly any precipitation at all to some snow tomorrow rain.

Back in Sussex
cue panic buying, milk, bread, toilet rolls!
We're OK on toilet rolls - I've still got half a garage full from my Covid panic buy.

The other half of the garage is full of flour and pasta.

If it happens tomorrow PM and I’m not here I’m blowing a gasket. A big gasket. I may even delete the thread. Can I delete the thread? Fuming I’ll be.
