Indeed. Europe has taken America's support and protection for granted post-1945, we could be entering a post-America world for Europe and too few on this side of the Atlantic in political office appear to have worked this out.
Exactly that. It needs to be very high on the list in Europe. I think Poland and the Baltic States are closest to the way forward, although probably as much because of history as through a fear of the US quitting NATO. It would need one helluva shift of understanding and priorities across Europe.

America is already in a form of civil war and yes, the storming of the Capitol is a symptom - when there is no longer a peaceful transference of power in a nation state, the conditions for civil war are already becoming evident. If Trump gets elected, it is removing him from power this time round that may prove to be the final trigger.
Trump is a constitutionalist, the GOP and MAGA are constitutionalists. The constitution limits presidents to 2 elected terms. Most Dictators have been in their 30s or 40s not knocking on 80.

Isn't going to happen but nice try though.

Biden will be gone by April, declaring he wont run I bet you. Nobody else will "Easily" beat Trump as the DNC are losing support in every demographic.

No he wants to be Prez to sort out all the crooks who stitched him up.
idle talk, or are you on Betfair taking everyone's money?

The mad thing is that there isn't a massive difference between the two candidates (77 vs 81). In fact, Trumpo is the same age as Biden was, when Trump starting with the whole 'Sleepy Joe' shit.
Fun fact, both men are older than Bill Clinton is now.

I didn’t refer to Trump as a ‘dictator’, you did - interesting choice of words though.

However, pleased to hear MAGA and GOP are apparently constitutionalists now so if Trump loses the election this time, in the absence of any evidence to suggest the result was fraudulent, this means they will accept the outcome without beating down the doors to the Capitol building and trying to ‘take back America’.

(Not sure what the ‘nice try’ refers to? )

Just 5, thins out the mob and imbalance. Those blocked brought nothing constructive anyway. I thought you were bugging out?

Trump just stormed the first primary, looks like people are not buying the Donald Pleasance type super criminal narrative.
No.It really doesn't

None of the last 3 republican winners of the Iowa caucuses won the nomination. Cruz was the last one.

Is this the same Trump who stated he wanted to ignore the constitution after losing the last election, or have you located a different Trump in your dreams?
"Do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION? A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution," Trump wrote in a post on the social network Truth Social and accused "Big Tech" of working closely with Democrats. "Our great 'Founders' did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!"

It is looking more and more likely that the only hope for American democracy is that the courts lock the crook up.

Maybe worth remembering..... More than 400,000 Americans died from Covid-19 during the Trump presidency. 2.9 million Americans lost their jobs while former President Donald Trump was in the White House. Opioid deaths skyrocketed, and the national debt exploded by $7 trillion during Trump’s tenure.

On NSC for over two decades...
Looks like the turnout in Iowa was quite low at just under 15% of registered Republicans. I wonder how the other 85% will vote in the Presidential election if Trump secures the nomination?
