Obviously you misread my post - i didn’t mean he said there would be a civil war in 2016 but that he told me in 2016 America was heading that way.

Yeah I understand, but if he was right, wouldn't it have happened when the election was 'stolen' and they marched on Capital Hill?

You'd think that moment - or the height of BLM and lockdown anxiety - would've been very big potential trigger points.

Europe needs to start investing more in its military and weaponry, and help Ukraine do the same.
Trump wanted this before (not unreasonably IMO... perhaps the only thing I agreed with him), and if he threatens or actions US withdrawal from NATO, we'll sure as hell need it.
Indeed. Europe has taken America's support and protection for granted post-1945, we could be entering a post-America world for Europe and too few on this side of the Atlantic in political office appear to have worked this out.

Sorry for naive question, but is Biden a shoe-in as the Democrat candidate by being the incumbent, or does he have to win nominations as well? Seems like they might need to roll the dice and put a fresh face up judging by polling figures of an assumed Biden v Trump contest.
Probably too late to opt for someone else other than Biden now - even 6 months ago it was possible - the Democrats dithered and now it's too late.

Anybdy else would easily beat Trump - it's just that Biden is, well Biden.
I have to admit, I never thought he would run again because I honestly don't think he had it in him to be bothered.
He probably only want to be POTUS again so he can pardon himself from the (many) charges he has racked up against him.

Europe spends a lot of money on defence, infact a lot more than Russia yet can’t defend itself without America. Need a European army…

I’m not sure there are huge numbers, but I think at the last election Trump was fresh in people’s mind, and getting him out of power was seen as imperative.

Now the Democrats have had a turn, the working masses have not seen a massive upswing in their living standards, and so anti-establishment is back in vogue.

I’m not expecting Trump’s vote share to massively exceed his previous numbers, but I fear a sense of lethargy and lack of enthusiasm for keeping Joe Biden’s corpse propped up in the White House will lead to a drop in votes for the blue team.
The mad thing is that there isn't a massive difference between the two candidates (77 vs 81). In fact, Trumpo is the same age as Biden was, when Trump starting with the whole 'Sleepy Joe' shit. Add in the fact that a) a lot of Americans are stupid and b) Biden has a stutter and mud sticks (unfairly, in a lot of cases, IMO). Then there is the 'cognitive decline' of Trump in the past few years and it's even CRAZIER that people still beat Biden with the same age stick.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think either are ideal candidates to lead the US, but Biden is the lesser of two evils, for me. But then it's not about me, it's about that lot over the pond and I'm sure we'll get the usual suspects popping up saying how amazing it's going to be with Trump back and how Biden has been more of a disaster than The Donald.

I'm not saying Trump is going to win, but it looks more likely that he will, at least at the moment...
This, for me, is the key bit. WAY too early to call anything.

America is already in a form of civil war and yes, the storming of the Capitol is a symptom - when there is no longer a peaceful transference of power in a nation state, the conditions for civil war are already becoming evident. If Trump gets elected, it is removing him from power this time round that may prove to be the final trigger.

I don’t know whether you looked at the guardian article I linked to ( posted again below) - ‘Civil war’ doesn’t necessarily mean two opposing armies fighting in the streets - it can simply mean the institutions of the State are no longer respected or upheld - and political differences are resolved by violence rather than debate or electoral mandate - that is already happening to a degree. I would say that could get much worse if Trump did not get elected - ( but if he did, that man will happily lead the world to hell in a basket just to satisfy his vanity and narcissistic needs.)

If he was to get in he won't be going away after 4 years. He will be in for life, using the insurrection act, the Supreme Court and his supporters in the Secret Service and the military.
There's a good chance that whoever ends up winning won't make the four years. Biden is, apparently, almost dead and Trump could die due to any number of reasons (I'm not ruling out him being poisoned by his "good friend" Vlad, for example – or some 'Antifa' nutter assassinating him) before the end of his term.

He has to run and win to stay out of jail

If that was true, why can't they put him in jail before the election? They've had years to sort this out.

They can. If he's found guilty at one of his many trials – and it carries a custodial sentence – he could be running the country from a jail cell if he wins.

There are cases ongoing. One case is being delayed by the crooked, Trump-appointed, Judge Cannon. The others are being slowed down as much as he can by appeals and other delaying tactics.
C.f. the slow grind of the very complex and nuanced "Financial Fair Play" (PSR) proceedings vs. Man City and Chelsea, in comparison to the very simple "is this number bigger than that number" cases quickly found against Everton and Notts Forest and Everton.

You must have the entire forum on ignore, so who exactly are you trying to chat with?

Just 5, thins out the mob and imbalance. Those blocked brought nothing constructive anyway. I thought you were bugging out?

Trump just stormed the first primary, looks like people are not buying the Donald Pleasance type super criminal narrative.

Biden will be gone by April, declaring he wont run I bet you. Nobody else will "Easily" beat Trump as the DNC are losing support in every demographic.

No he wants to be Prez to sort out all the crooks who stitched him up.
