Where did 20 million Democrats go from 2020 to 2024.
Joe got 81 million votes
Kamala got 60?

There is an estimated 8m votes remaining to be counted just in California (57/40 D/R) so lets wait and see the final number.

But It's looking likely that Trump will have more votes than he did in 2020, whilst Harris will be way down on Biden's 2020 votes but still more than Clinton in 2016 & Obama in 2012.

Perhaps a better question would be where did Biden's additional votes come from?

It goes beyond "differing poltical views." I feel he is a real threat. And this is not about Harris.

I personally think the world would be a far better place if Putin, Trump plus a few others, did not exist on it. I have a good grasp of US culture; if he was shot dead then I'd offer my thoughts and prays and move on. That is how it works over there.
It wouldn't though would it. His supporters would make him a martyr .....and then no doubt partition the Pope for him to become a Saint,

I will bet you now that there will be a normal election in 4 years time. It's incredible how many people get caught up in the hype and nonsense that comes out of Donald Trump's mouth.

Reading too much into vote counts seems pointless before counting is over, it’s not like the UK where all the votes are counted and THEN we find out who wins

That's fine, they can worship a martyr, I do not have an issue with this.

It is a bit stange.

2008: GOP 60.0m DEM 69.5m Total 129.5m
2012: GOP 61.0m DEM 66.0m Total 127.0m
2016: GOP 63.0m DEM 65.8m Total 128.8m
2020: GOP 74.2m DEM 81.3m Total 155.5m
2024: GOP 72.6m DEM 68.0m Total 140.6m

Massive increse in 2020 generally and for Dem specifically.
In 2020 you had some unique factors that contributed to big turnout:

1. A big motivation to get Trump out.
2. A big feeling that Trump had mishandled Covid.
3. A white male, experienced, familiar candidate as an alternative to Trump.

...................... and you think there'll be enough democrats to block it? Plus some too scared to risk their families by opposing it. Senate, congress and the judges all going/gone republican with big majorities. :(

We can always learn from history; so now we can learn from history what will happen. It's happened before.
There absolutely will not be Democrats (and you'd need about 35% of them) voting to amend the Constitution to allow 3 term Presidencies to enable Trump, no. Obviously not.

For the avoidance of doubt, you cannot amend the Constitution with a majority, and the GOP have nothing close to the required senators/representatives to get such an amendment moving. They'd need a huge number of Dem senators/representatives to vote for it for an amendment to even get to the first stage of recommendation.

Not sure it will changes much, the majority of Americans no longer value democracy.

I think to partition the Pope is a bit extreme, and messy. Maybe they should just petition him?

Did the election fixers get the wrong date ? 🤣

Why isn't Trump declaring a steal this time ? Why aren't the Democrats ?

I'm getting this horrible feel that the elections were fair all the time.

Failed in Florida and North Dakota inthis election though.
I think you mean South Dakota, not North Dakota.

The Florida measure currently has 57% support, but in that state the requirement is to reach 60% so it will fail to pass.

I meant South Dakota if they voted 55% against, the only state not to get a simple majority for the measure, although, as you say, Florida needed 60%

The wealth of the 10 richest people in the world – a list dominated by US tech billionaires – increased by a record amount after Donald Trump’s victory in the presidential election, according to a widely cited index.

Hey look! Trump is already making people richer. He's not even in office yet.

It appears that in each area where those Labour folk were on holiday and not working, the Democrats lost quite a lot of votes.
