This has been debunked, hanging on to it is Trump derangement syndrome.

What are you on about? I have no clue whether Donald Trump was involved with Epstein's seedier activities, but he definitely had a long standing relationship with the man and knew that he liked young girls.

He may be in the Epstein files, he may not, neither you or are I have any certainty one way or the other.

I hope journos start measuring closely how their economy performs next four years.
Yeah, now is the time he needs to step up and create americas golden age (or however he put it) and the media need to hold him accountable.

The fact that they won't is very depressing.

David Lammy is, and always has been, free to voice whatever opinion he wants. That's how free speech works.

If Trump doesn't like it then that's tough shit. We don't bow down to bullies in this country, never have done.

I'm not sure that is how the special relationship works.

That's not actually true. For example, this is a post I made on this thread on the 15th October...

I'll describe a friend of mine in the US. You tell me who they vote for...
- Female
- University educated
- Bright
- Funny
- Socially aware
- Lives in Southern California
...you've guessed she votes Trump, because I wouldn't be asking otherwise.
In our discussions around this, I think it really comes down to the belief that Trump is better for a strong US economy, and a strong US economy is best for her family's ongoing prosperity and quality of life.
A few years ago her husband lost his job and it took him a fair while to find another one. I know she was genuinely concerned they would lose their home and find themselves in a bad financial position in a country that doesn't do a great job of looking after those who fall on hard times.
And I guess I can empathise with that, regardless of my incredulity as to how anyone could believe Trump is capable to lead the US.
Blindly dismissing tens of millions of people as stupid is easy to do, but short-sighted.

Gullible may be a more accurate tag, if any has to be found.

Trump has perfected the playbook of convincing a lot of people that he's in their corner, fighting for them. He's really not. If the working people are better off, it's merely a side-effect of those he's actually focused on.
The UK voted for Tony Blair three times :lolol:

Congratulations to America, you've done your country proud. Even with $136,000,000 in big tech propaganda, everyone saw though that laughing, lying clown and you'll Make America Great Again!
The world wont end and dispite Obama, biden, Harris best efforts, WW3 won't happen.
It'll be interesting to watch the MSM reaction and the liberal meltdown. Produly wearing my 45-47 hat today.

How deeply depressing. It's like Brexit all over again. To my mind a main root of both event outcomes is the vast vomit of misinformation that spills forth from FB and X. No idea how this will ever be fixed. The human race & our planet is in serious trouble.
Agree. Decision making 100% based on feelings not facts, underpinning fears and biases, conspiring to engineer hate and division, world of ‘survival of the fittest‘. Lovely.

Lammy will be told to keep his gob shut.

Starmer has already congratulated the winner.

Incidentally if you are concerned about what people have said in the past, read what the new vice president said about Trump a few years ago.....
I'm not concerned just interested to see how it plays out. I'm fully aware of VP Vance comments thank you. This wasn't about him though, just the labour Party.

Not sure Lammy can keep his mouth shut though....

Yes but his opinions were pretty unprofessional. He has a job to do, shame he couldn't be more measured as we will suffer now.

What can we learn from this?

1. Look at the demographics where Trump gained a majority - white, male, over 45, no college degree. These are the same demographic that Farage tapped into with Brexit.

2. Don't be afraid of telling lies. Most people don't like to hear the truth, or hear that they've got to do anything. They'd rather hear how a leader will sort problems for them and how wonderful everything is going to be.

3. Create a false narrative about deep state working against you the voter but how you're not deep state, and you're on their side., i.e. vote rigging and electoral interference is everywhere - except when you're winning.

His opinions were also expressed when he was not Foreign Secretary. Should we all modify all our opinions now lest we at some future point find ourselves in a high profile position?

Everyone around the civilised, democratic world, whether politician or ordinary citizen, now has a duty to come together and work for peace and tolerance.

In the 1930s peace loving people could not imagine what lay ahead. Those who could see it were either ridiculed or ignored.

If there was ever a time to learn from history, it is now.

They're both democratically elected politicians, why aren't they allowed to celebrate each others success?
There’s no reason they can’t celebrate each other’s success. Just don’t expect everybody else to join in and feel happy for them!
