I do think I remember 2020 looking pretty bleak early on to.

But maybe I'm just trying to make myself feel better.
It was a little bleak early on in 2020, but that's because the Rep voters are counted and released first. It wasn't that bleak in 2020, and I put a bet on a Biden win after the polls had closed at 5/2. It's looking bleak from what I'm seeing atm. Reps have taken the Senate. Harris just has a very narrow route to victory.

A lot of people with egg on their face as they have been following their heart rather than their head.

He’s going to win all 7 swing states and now quite possibly the popular vote as well.

Americans felt better off and safer with him as President, that’s why he’s won. Nothing more, nothing less.
And it’s their decision to make i guess

It’s over, Harris 75/1.

You have to be born inthe US to stand for President. Musk is an illegal immigrant; he entered on a student visa and stayed illegally.
Which is why he needs to control from the shadows, like he's about to do

Just woken up, so Donald Trump is going to be the 47th President of The United States of America’s well look on the bright side it could be worse, most of us don’t live there so that’s a positive, second it’s only 5 years he can’t have a second term and third is the electorate get the government they deserve as i’ve heard repeated many times on here.

Right into the shower then off to work to... make my contribution to UK PLC and put some money into the NHS coffers to keep this ageing population of Boomers alive 😉
It's 4 years.

Devastating news. 4 years of carnage and chaos to come. Europe has to unite and counter the shit that Trump will cause. I am truly astonished that there are so many "stoopid Americans" who have voted for this criminal. I was convinced there weren't enough racist, misogynistic fascists to get him elected.
From what I am watching it is largely down to the economic belief that people will be better off with Trump.

I guess immigration is a big thing too but it is hard to imagine a country would make such a daft decision based on the spectre of immigrants.

FFS

This is on Biden too, insisting on running again when he said he wouldn’t - then taking way too long to step aside when it was painfully obvious to all that he was utterly incapable of doing so.

Dems (and the rest of us) are about to reap what they have sown.

I’d not be relying on the sanctuary of rules or traditions for the next 4 years.

Money trumps everything and if Musk is Donald’s anointed successor, his place of birth is irrelevant.

Awful result for decent people everywhere. Vindication for all the worst people in the world. I suppose at least it seems that it's a fairly decisive result so they will just have to be left to get on with it and hope that things don't end up as bad as all right minded people think that they will. Not sure I really want to live in a world where morons outnumber the decent any more though.

Morning everybody, well this isn't what I wanted to wake up to :(

So George Bernard Shaw was right: "The 100% American is 99% idiot".

If I can draw a crumb of comfort, at least it looks like it won't be close so there won't be the post-election violence we saw last time. I appreciate that's pretty thin pickings, but it's all I've got. Maybe it won't be as bad as we feared. Maybe the grown-ups can reign him in.

Heigh ho, "It is what it is" as someone once said.

Who or what do you think is responsible for there being more morons than decent folk, i’d have thought it’s always been the case 🤷
