the one that has got him in loads of trouble (or probably Daily Mail readers who didnt go to the gig) and ended up in having to raise money for service men and women...

funny or offensive?

"Say what you like about these servicemen amputees from Iraq and Afghanistan, but we are going to have a f***ing good Paralympic team in 2012"

I thought it was funny and offensive, but lots of comedy is. It's certainly not worth making a fuss over

Satire drawing attention to the pointlessness of the injuries and not poking fun at the servicemen and women. Would be interesting to hear it in the context of the act. But not that funny really.

You'd have to be a bit of a moron to find that joke amusing really.

Exactly and bloke does work for charities involved with injured service men. It was satire from somone whose material is just that. Satirical and "offensive"

Very quickly apologised and has agreed to do a special benefit on top of the work he already does.

I went to the gig at Brighton, there is no real context to the joke/act as he just does random small jokes about anything and everything. A bit like Tim Vine and all his one liners.

He has lots of controversial jokes, but thats what he does. The show is called Rapier Whit, and everyone knows Jimmy Carr is controversial.

He made lots of jokes about lots of topics, and I dont think this was the most controversial of his set

More of a statement of fact, although the Yanks are already on the case, and have been for years.

What was 'mock the week' thingy that got a big broo ha-ha from the BBC, something to do with Rebecca Adlington?

Nothing wrong with it. People just like to complain.

The Queens' "haunted pussy" got lots of complaints when they repeated it the week after the Ross-Brand ting

I find it amazing that anyone at a Jimmy Carr show would be offended by that. In a similar vein to that fuss over Russell Brand, I have absolutely no sympathy for anyone offended by it. These comedians are all likely to cross the line to being offensive at points during their shows; if you think you are going to be deeply offended by it, don't go!
