If you don't want edgy material, skating on the line of what is decent and offensive then here's a tip...Don't go and see Jimmy Carr!

I find it amazing that anyone at a Jimmy Carr show would be offended by that. In a similar vein to that fuss over Russell Brand, I have absolutely no sympathy for anyone offended by it. These comedians are all likely to cross the line to being offensive at points during their shows; if you think you are going to be deeply offended by it, don't go!

Can't put it better myself.

Most things said are going to offend someone.

he had another rape based joke, which properly silenced the audience

Whats the difference between football and rape?

Women don't like football............

I am no prude but how on Earth can that be even in the slightest bit funny. Infact the guy deserves to get his f***ing head caved in after the show for saying something like that.

C*NT.

I think the paralympics is offensive. I used to like Carr but now he is just a grade A c*nt wanking away at home trying to write ever more offensice " jokes " for his show. Desperate and not funny anymore.

Doesn't surprise me one little bit about him. He's very controversial like that.

I think he could get away with a bit more if had even 1% warmth to him. He's odd-looking, and his delivery is akin to a robots'. Far too clinical.

I loved the show. I loved his last show. I'll be back to see him next time he's in town. I wouldn't miss him for anything. Almost 2 hours of material and people have focused on 2 or 3 of his jokes. How amazing.

I think it's very hard to make a judgement when you weren't at the gig. Whether you find that line funny or not, surely no-one wants a whole host of politically correct comedians not prepared to risk offending anyone.

Someone who'd recently had their face caved in could find that hugely offensive!

It's a good one liner and a clever bit of satire, yes I thought it was funny. (He does some funny paedophile jokes as well :lolol:)

If you really want to pick the bones out of it, it's not really offensive at all. It's NOT a joke about people losing limbs, which of course wouldnt be funny.

They were discussing it on talksport earlier and apparently he is popular with the servicemen and does alot of work for them. A bloke who'd lost a limb even phoned up and said he thought it was funny.

This is yet another example of people being offended on someone elses behalf and looking to feign moral outrage.

Why are these "edgy" and "funny" when jokes by the likes of Bernard Manning, Jim Davidson and Chubby Brown aren't? They were doing "cutting edge" at the time... I do like a little chuckle at domestic violence, ******, paki, spastics and abortion jokes...

I seriously can't believe that those ex-servicemen would be offended by that.
I don't think they are. Some have already come out and said they laughed t it.

The only people that have "offended" are the lefties who get offended by the topic ofthe day, bitch and mon, so they don't have to face up to the real issues we are facing at the moment.

To be honest I think its who told the joke rather than the content which determines whether its offensive, jimmy carr is popular with squaddies and they will find the joke funny,as it typifies squaddie humour,I doubt they'd have found it so funny if it was told by someone who hasn't shown them any support.
