I don't think they are. Some have already come out and said they laughed t it.

The only people that have "offended" are the lefties who get offended by the topic ofthe day, bitch and mon, so they don't have to face up to the real issues we are facing at the moment.

The only people who seem offended are The Sun and The Daily Mail, if their lefties I must assume you narrowly escaped the Nuremberg trials.

A Daily Mail reading leftie, now that's one confused person, know wonder they are angry.

The fact that he FELT that he could come out and tell the joke speaks volumes, certain things used to be sacrosanct in this country , and telling jokes about squaddies having their limbs blown off used to be one of them , the ONLY people whose opinion on this is worth anything are the squaddies themselves, and even then I'm sure it will differ, I just wonder how many people on here telling people not to go to jimmy carr gigs if you don't like offensive jokes would be thrusting themselves forward if the furore was about jim davidson telling jokes about st doreen or steven lawrence ?

I am no prude but how on Earth can that be even in the slightest bit funny. Infact the guy deserves to get his f***ing head caved in after the show for saying something like that.

C*NT.

That rape joke has been taken out of context. He was saying how after that joke was told in Liverpool a woman shouted out "but I like football". He then went on to say how he found it amazing that that was the thing she found wrong about the joke.

There were lots of disabled jokes and one aimed specifically at the disabled section of the audience. None of whom seemed to take offence.

It's a shame he rarely - if ever - takes the piss out of himself: bearing in mind he looks like a hideous sub-League Of Gent's character. It'd make the 'edginess' of such gags a lot more palatable in my mind. As it stands, I reckon this particular bit of material would prob's go down a storm with many servicemen & women who've lost limbs as a consequence of their profession; or those who haven't but continue to put their arses on the line 27/7. I appreciate JC's a very sharp cookie, but I personally find this slice of observational 'humour' is beyond my personal tolerance level.

I find it amazing that anyone at a Jimmy Carr show would be offended by that. In a similar vein to that fuss over Russell Brand, I have absolutely no sympathy for anyone offended by it. These comedians are all likely to cross the line to being offensive at points during their shows; if you think you are going to be deeply offended by it, don't go!

Exactly, that joke was for Jimmy Carr fans, I cant believe that a fan, knowing exactly what Jimmy's jokes are like would be offended. You go to his gigs knowing that you are going to get that kind of joke.

Different kettle of fish now its been bounded around the media. It is now being heard by people who have no knowledge of Jimmy Carr and also people that don't like him. It's obvious that it will cause offense to these kind of people.

I'm sure that's true. But it's one thing for the joke to come from a serviceman, quite another for it to come from TV's Jimmy Carr. IMHO like. A genuine career-threatening moment for the unfunny funny man. Fingers crossed, eh?

Exactly my feelings, the WWII McIndoe Guinea Pigs who were all horribly burned used to joke amongst themselves about their appearance but they didn't have the Max Millers of the time telling jokes about them - Carr is a shithead of the highest order

Nice to see you're up to your usual trick of trying to define who can and who can't comment on a given subject.

I'm just wondering if it's allowable for relatives of servicemen to comment as well.

PS I think the joke is in poor taste.
