Have changed it to Joao Pedro . Fair play.I've never ever heard him called 'Pedro'

This is the PL definitionYep…..been at Watford for 3 years before he became 21 so qualifies as HGP I think.
Dahoud is isn’t he ? Contract expired at the end of the German seasonHa . Well both are free agents. But they're not free agents . yet.
I've no idea. But PL contracts don't technically expire until the end of June.Dahoud is isn’t he ? Contract expired at the end of the German season
Surely this means he does qualify, as he's spent the entire 20/21, 21/22 and 22/23 seasons playing in England, and he turned 21 during the 22/23 season so he meets the bracketed term in your quote? This is the PL definition
"A "Home-Grown Player" means a player who, irrespective of nationality or age, has been registered with any club affiliated to The Football Association or the Football Association of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons, or 36 months, before his 21st birthday (or the end of the season during which he turns 21)."
three entire seasons so he misses out.
That's my understanding of it. Joined in Jan 2020, played three full seasons after that, was 21 during the third. He'd not be HGP if either he was a) 21 during 20/21 or 21/22 or b) he'd joined after the beginning of the 20/21 season, but he joined the Jan of the season prior.Surely this means he does qualify, as he's spent the entire 20/21, 21/22 and 22/23 seasons playing in England, and he turned 21 during the 22/23 season so he meets the bracketed term in your quote?

Turns is contracted until 2024.Yep. Should be in there . I've not put him in the main squad for now cos i think he and a number of other loanees are out of contract so waiting to here if he's in on the retain list.
Ha ! i'm not doing two of these . But i know that rule and its making my head hurt.It might also be worth making a classification between players that are homegrown in England vs Homegrown at the club.
European Tournament rules require 4 players homegrown at the club and 8 homegrown in England.
oh. i have the default black background . so it looks like this. shall i tweak to er, what to make it accessible ?I think a few of the player names are written in white text so aren't visible?
Among those over 21 is it only Dunk, March, Sanchez and McGill that satisfy that requirement? It might also be worth making a classification between players that are homegrown in England vs Homegrown at the club.

Unlikely. How much do you reckon Brighton will spend this transfer window?
Surely at least £100 Mil
Think you’re under-egging both the sales and purchase figures.Unlikely.
You've not been paying much attention to the way BHA operates have you? Why would you TBF...?
With Mac Allister & Caicedo pretty much certain to go (c. £140m incoming), there may be one more (in Albion terms) large signing to cover a midfield gap. Mac Allister is pretty much covered by existing players, so it's really Caicedo that will leave the biggest hole. Even though there's no like-for-like replacement in the squad, his 'replacement' is more likely to be a talented youngster to bring on, while the existing squad is shuffled to cover the gap next season. Add Dahoud and Milner to the squad (as seems likely) and there are even more options to cover the gap in the short term (again, even though there's no like-for-like Caicedo replacement).
We could do with a fullback - ideally one that can cover either side, but LB more of a priority.
We'll also have a LCB vacancy if Colwill goes back to Chelsea after his loan.
My prediction, in addition to the confirmed João Pedro deal for £30m:
Milner (Free). All but confirmed
Dahoud (Free). All but confirmed
£17m on a 24 yr old fullback who I've barely heard of, who has played in the Europa League for a low-middling European club side
£5m on an 18 yr old ball-winning genius with the 24/25 season in mind
Maybe (everything crossed) a club record £35m for Levi Colwill
At £87m, that's a lot closer to the £100m than I'd have thought, but the Colwill deal is sadly unlikely IMO (I doubt we'd spend that much on someone else as he is a special case - proven with us, still very young and therefore a safe bet).
It does also depend on who else goes. I can't see any other nailed-on 1st teamers going, but if someone like Mitoma or (god forbid) Ferguson went, we'd have to spend a bit more.
What do you think Villa will spend @VillaFan? (and what do you want them to spend? )
Almost certain McGill is being released i'd say.Among those over 21 is it only Dunk, March, Sanchez and McGill that satisfy that requirement?
If we lose Sanchez and/or McGill then would that inhibit our ability to name a full squad for Europe (not accounting for the under age players)?
I’m pretty sure that RDZ will want to look at those three in person before we get rid. Also, I wonder if he wants to take a look at Connolly? For me, Connolly’s problem has been in his head, I think the lad has bags of natural talent and potential. Could RDZ inspire Connolly to perform like he did in that Spurs match consistently? I would not put that task beyond our astonishing manager.Think you’re under-egging both the sales and purchase figures.
Out: £200m+
Mac Allister £70m
Caicedo £80m+
Sanchez £20-30m
Lamptey £10-20m
Alzate, Khadra, Sima, Zeqiri, Karbownik and other fringe players £10-15m total
