Can someone clarify for me how the squad size works based on naming a 25 player squad - can we use more than the named 25 if the player is home grown or under 23 ?

I would have thought RDZ will want to sign a couple more experienced / established players beyond Dahoud and Milner if we lose Alexis and Moises to equip us for Europa League.

For me, we definitely need another left back as cover for Pervis and centre back if we can’t keep Colwill, and possibly a right back depending on Lamptey’s situation. And that’s before thinking about any additional midfield replacements for AM & MC

You can name up to 25, with a maximum of 17 non-HGP. Most clubs don't go as far as naming 25. We were far off it last season. On top of that you can use youngsters (I think u23s). This is for PL squads. This thread has indicated that the rules for the EL are different and I think more stringent, but someone ITK will clarify.

Ok. Another slight update. So here's the squad for 23/24 so far. Have tweaked it slightly with some useful edits from @AZ Gull and others. Still no official word on a retain list and still no official word on Milner/Dahoud.
Relatively few rumours . Some noise that Koslowski is wanted by Vitesse for a further year and of course the first tos/fros in the future of Colwill.
There will be a LOT more of this.

PS: Shout if any further errors/omissions.

Believe the default is actually the light theme. Dark theme might be defaulted to instead if you have dark mode enabled on your device?
i just meant that i opted to switch to it ...and there's just one of them ha ha. I prefer dark mode on most of my devices/apps if they offer it. Anyway i removed the formatting in the squad list cos there was a bit of feedback saying it wasn't readable / accessible by everyone.

My GUESS is that McGill will go out on loan to the Championship or League 1 for a year.

@chaileyjem - Antef Tsoungui has announced his departure from the club.
Off to Feyenord, apparantly, to be loaned out to some team I've never heard of (according to something I found on t'internet, but can't find again!) Sorry! Definately leaving the Albion though.

Pity - would have liked to have seen how he would have done on a loan to, say, a decent League 1 team. Impressive in PL2, I thought, especially as a CB pairing with Turns.

We do - now; but sadly I don't think there's much chance of us having Sanchez here next season.
The Kelleher rumour isn't going away. We could do with some more Irish internationals tbf. ha ha.

A couple of rumours I’ve seen;
Andy Moran to Stoke for a season’s loan.
Sima to Galatasaray as a makeweight for the transfer in of Sacha Boey.
Can see the sense in both of those.

Great list, I think quite a bit of change before September.
Are there not a few more HGP in that list?
Surely some or all of Connolly, Sarmiento, Gilmour and Alzate count as HGP? Gilmour was at Chelsea academy for many years.
