Scolari offered England job

Great choice!

As has been stated above many times he has actually won things throughout his managerial carrier. Won the 2002 tournement with Brazil, and took Portugal to the Euro 2004 final whre they were unlucky to loose.

No English manager fits the bill.

My preference would have been Martin Oneil but Scolari will do for me.

Im going of this appointment by the hour actually, he won the world cup with Brazil....yes but who hasnt in the last 50 years....any half decent manager could do it, and as for Portugal, they were the host nation.....

Those are infinitley better credentials than any English manager has ever had. I'll be more delighted than the McGhee outers would be if he quit, just to see Sven disappear over the horizon at the end of our exit from the World Cup.

I think one of the best things about him getting the job, if he does, would be the fact he doesn't strike me as a "yes" man

You can get in Timmy Bleedin Mallet as long as he won the International games and developed the youth coming through and exisiting players!

IF we get Big Phil, it would be the time to develop our english Managers coming through ie Alladyce, Mclaren, Pearce, Curbs!

I hope he takes it. Was my preferred choice all along. Who posted that poll a couple of weeks ago asking who should get the job? Scholari wasnt even an option. Thank god its not Maclaren, a disaster waiting to happen.

My only fear is that Scholari might have a sort of supanova effect, a rapid improvement, that doesnt last too long. I would have preferred his appointment about a year before a world cup, not 4 years before.
