Very harsh on Sanchez in my opinion, not even on the bench. Ridiculous man management. What message does it send to Sanchez?

What message does it send to Steele? ???

Baffling, unless he's picked up an injury/illness. Ryan not exactly convincing......

There might of course be a good reason that none of us know about, but on the face of it I completely agree with you.

They probably communicated verbally (I know its not possible in the FIFA game world you live in) and whatever was said in that conversation - that none of us have heard - was the message sent to Sanchez.

Every time there is a cross or ball into the box it makes me nervous. Ryan simply cannot command his box or even his six yard box.

Interesting that the commentators said Burnley had picked up the fact that Ryan is not good in the air and were hanging corners high into the 6 yard box. They did it a couple of times and Ryan dealt with them reasonably.

The usual random generator employed by Potter but we protected Ryan so well, his only almost goal conceded was a cross. Full marks to the outfield players for protecting him.

I don't think Sanchez did anything special to 'keep the shirt'. Certainly didn't do anything wrong though.[/
I thought the idea was play well Keep the shirt ? Not do OK then get dropped out the squad completely Go figure ?
Considering he did get plaudits for acrobatically preventing Veltman scoring an OG amongst other positive praise
Seems odd to promote to number 1 then despite doing OK seemingly send back to the periphery?

Very strange and also confusing for Steele as mentioned in other posts. Assume Walton in next game.

That he is in a very comfortable position earning a decent living as a footballer without ever having to actually play? Not knocking him - that is pretty much the standard lifestyle for most 2nd./3rd. string 'keepers.

Something similar to Maupay must have happened. Sorry Potter cant convince me a goalkeeper needs resting.

Yes, that save from Veltman was top drawer, and I did wonder whether Ryan would have reached it;

On Friday night though, as soon as I saw that misplaced cross from Lowton hit the bar and luckily for us bounce clear it re-inforced my belief that it's time for Sanchez to get a run in the first team; that ball was a couple of inches outside Ryan's reach; Sanchez is five and a half inches taller than Ryan. Let's face it, if that ball hadn't luckily bounced clear, the misery on here would be even greater.

If my Auntie had balls she'd be my Uncle.

As much as I agree that Sanchez shouldn't have been dropped, I don't think it's fair to discuss the 'what ifs' that went in our favour as part of the reasoning, particularly when we've had so much 'bad luck' ourselves, as it were.

Did anyone see alex McCarthy's save on friday night? No way would maty Ryan have reached it.

& when Pope saved from welbeck- I cant remember Maty pulling off a critical save like that this season (pull me up on that if I'm wrong)
