Wo down there Eric, I'm not complaining at you for posting stuff. I don't expect you to make sure every single link is going to satisfy every one of us 100%. I'm just saying I didn't really like that one, that's all.

And yes I agree that you can learn from their reports. If they're telling us that Putin is great and loves everyone, then they must be aware that people think the opposite.
OK thanks.

I think there's a fair chance that the pundits could become really entertaining as next year progresses. We will see.

I would suggest that they wouldn't be doing this, if the Kremlin was not concerned about the rise of dissent. Or, to take it a stage further, the rebellion that Paul Warburg speaks of.
You can only hide things from the public for so long. People start to notice when the price of their food basics goes through the roof and they can’t get their hands on fuel quite so readily. Especially in the middle of a particularly cold winter (as it currently is in Russia, around 10 degrees below average).

Indeed.

And when they can't afford their mortgage, and in desperation, put their property on the market, and find that the number of buyers is collapsing, due to bankruptcies in the private sector, and layoffs in the public sector. And those potential buyers who are left, are unable to afford the 25%+ mortgage rates to buy it off them anyway.

OK point taken. You find it boring, and Raymondo can't stomach it. I will try to select the Russian state TV more carefully. Or I may not post it, and just highlight the interesting bits.

I know I've said this before, but Russian state TV can be a goldmine, as it can provide a glimpse into Kremlin thinking that you don't get elsewhere. For instance, for the second time recently, Margarita Simonyan has eulogised about Putin. Why is she doing that? Have they heard rumblings of discontent? Then, towards the end, the fat bloke speaks through tears about Putin's love for his country. They are advising the Russian people how to behave.

I would suggest that they wouldn't be doing this, if the Kremlin was not concerned about the rise of dissent. Or, to take it a stage further, the rebellion that Paul Warburg speaks of.
Keep posting their state TV, please Eric!!
It was just a bit of throwaway banter after a tough day here. I did watch most of it later, and I agree they are important in their own way... it's one of the few direct windows we have on their media and society.

I will do that. They are iconic. Part of the whole experience. Check out Simonyan's New Year predictions video below:
