What record levels of taxation are you referring to?

Russia are attacking democracy in Europe, and you want us to do nothing about it? I want us to support a democratic country in Europe which is defending itself from an evil dictator, and you think that stance is drinking kool aid
Yep. Democracy needs to be defended. Sometimes that is by Parliamentary procedure. Sometimes sanctions. And sometimes with hard cash.

Security in Europe is in all our interests.

It's reported that twelve Storm shadow missiles were used to hit the underground command and control centre at the village of Maryno in Kursk.

Couldn't they have used just one or two missiles? It's as if they decided to make sure. Really sure. Who or what was inside it?

Maybe they knew that the air defences could deal with 8 or 10 missiles at a time, so sent enough to overwhelm them?

I doubt the air defences could deal with anything like that many.

Who is it reporting that 12 were used? I can't see the advantage for Ukraine of disclosing this? I think it's Russia reporting it, so I'll ignore the number.

The rouble continues to devalue. There seems to be a weekly pattern of interventions by the Russian central bank, every 7 days, every Tuesday, and their efforts are proving progressively less effective.

Have a look at the video attached taken on the ground nearby. Lots of impacts recorded. Free to view on patreon, no need to sign up for anything

#Eric the Meek, to whose post I replied, did. And I was just replying to the question he posed as to whether they could have just used two missiles.

Count them in the video. I saw 11 individual, discrete explosions.

Video of the attack on Maryno;

It’s an even better watch if you play “Land of Hope and Glory” in your head with the crescendos matching the explosions

Looking at the video, there are no air defences. Not sure why they needed so many, I've no idea what the target was.

I hadn't seen the video. So there was no attempt to shoot them down then?
As far as I can see from the video, none whatsoever. But I'm not an expert...

Paul Warburg (and I think Jake Broe) have commented that Russian air defences are less than perfect. Paul Warburg suggested that this is why Russia wouldn't go down the nuke route - because they couldn't prevent the response from the west.

Could it be a case of “give em all we got”

It would certainly be understandable after 1001 days of war to just think “have that lot, you ****s”
