In the big bang media video...does anyone know what the shapes are (centre and right) that look like tornadoes/water spouts...am I being stoopid

I can't shed any light on that. I hadn't played the video before, and at first glance, I thought it might be a column of smoke. Then I noticed it appeared to move around a bit, like a tornado. I'm as much in the dark as you are.

Edit: I think the centre one might be a road sign in the near distance. You can just make out the top of it as the glow from the explosions lifts. I don't know about the one on the right.

I think I got that wrong about Girkin being close to Putin, but I’m no less happy about his demise. I think he was a bit of a renegade and led pro Russian militia groups in the Donbas.

It’s possible too that in addition to the hardware there may have been human casualties including the military expertise who support the drone maintenance, training and transport etc.
Times Radio report today that North Korean casualties have been found in Ukraine - most likely engineers and specialist support staff, not frontline soldiers (yet)

Another unwelcome distraction for Putin who may have to divert resources that would otherwise be deployed against Ukraine. Repressed minority groups might well sense that now is a good time to flex their muscles while Putin’s resources are stretched.
