It's the words of a control freak. So no promise of more weapons??? Russia also get the right to fight on. It's just weird... I'll wait for an American adult like Snyder to translate Trump-speak🤷🏼‍♂️
Gleaned this from bbc thread.

  • Donald Trump said on Tuesday that in return for the deal Ukraine would get "the right to fight on", but didn't confirm if the US would continue supplying military equipment and ammunition

A brief diversion from Trump's chaos. Erdogan is flexing his muscles.

Turkey has apparently weighed in and declared that Russia must get out of Ukraine (all of it) and Ukraine be allowed to join Nato.
The Crimean Tatars are descended from Turks, and Turkey imports a third of Russian oil.....
Then there's the Bosphorus and Turkey's application to join the EU.

Unfortunately, I can't find the Youtube that I've just watched, so I can't be sure of the provenance or the currency of this.

And either Trump or Russia/Putin are lying about their discussion. Trump said he had asked this specific question when talking to Putin, and Putin was okay with peacekeepers in Ukraine.

I've been wondering when Erdogan would speak up. Put him on the negotiating table...that would be interesting.

Didn't listen to Macron correcting him, and keeps trotting out the £350bn [plus] allegedly spent by the US. He can't stop himself from lying.

Trump will keep treating Zelenskiy and Ukraine with disdain. At the moment he only treats Putin with respect. What an ignorant coward he is.

I noticed that as well.

What happened to 'the killing must stop'?

Does a good deal for America mean the killing can continue?
With a **** like him running the USA is anyone surprised at anything he says or does. I don't know if this has been posted before but I found myself nodding along with it.

Apologies it’s slightly off topic but I think it’s relevant to the thread?

Ukraine is just the start. Expect Trump and his foreign policy team to apply their "America First" principles around the world over the course of the next four years.

All makes Starmers visit even more interesting.
Why does everyone keep saying “the next four years”? We know the plan is to remove term limits and even elections right?

I didn't know that - great.
Weird isn't it... feels like the 'talks' have finished (now it's mineral rights discussion) but they haven't really started.
Weird doesn't begin to describe it.

There are YouTube videos appearing of Trump voters regretting their decision.

Edit: That's not the weird bit. The weirdness is that it's happening so soon after Trump's inauguration.

Sometimes I bloody love Erdogan. He's a despot, but he's our despot!

I think you're right.

Maybe that's why Starmer is visiting, to announce his support.
