Yeah, same here. Unfortunately they have lately found some new nice friends to play with: "The 16 that voted against Monday’s resolution alongside the U.S. and Russia were Israel, Haiti, Hungary, Palau and the Marshall Islands; the African countries Burkina Faso, Burundi, the Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Niger and Sudan; and Belarus, North Korea, Syria, Eritrea, Mali and Nicaragua, six countries that voted against the 2023 resolution".

The whole thing is insane, thank god it's gameday and 90+ minutes of something else to think about.
Some are obviously not a surprise. Russia/Wagner's influence in parts of Africa showing through. Syria...wtaf...I thought they were glad to be rid of Russia??
Hungary...video from that nice Mr Timmermans assures that Orban is losing support because he's clearly looking after himself and his cronies, rather than e.g. the health service.

I’m sure Americans would welcome Putin taking over 20% of their country and buying back its contents from Russia.
This whole thing is getting beyond a stink. I wonder if the American people realise that the Orangeman is representing THEM and how they are being perceived by the rest of the western world, allowing this nutcase to run amok on their behalf?

I think Starmer spoke well, these announcements are broadly welcome.

Less said about Badenoch’s comments the better.

Sir Ed Davey very good, pushing for seizure of Russian assets and, on Trump, “we all agree he [Starmer] should try” but urges focus on Europe.
Conspicuous by their silence/absence from the statement and subsequent debate were Farrago, Entice and the rest of the Reform mob. True patriotism in masterly inaction.

I think tice and farage are more concerned with hiding the money paid to them by Putin.

Exactly. And Musk saying at CPAC "Why is Ukraine still fighting, trenches full of bodies, just give up!"...like you probably would, Musk, you coward.
It's all shocking, I'd be happy if Europe stops being polite in any way.

I highly doubt it. Half of them have never even left America, I doubt they give a shit how they are perceived by the rest of the world.

Nathan Gill, ex leader of reform in Wales. He was also heavily involved in the brexit party.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c241n65qz9do

But it appears from the BBC that it is only of interest to Wales and doesn't even make the lead stories there.

Call me old fashioned, but I remember a time when an elected politician from 'the most popular' party in Britain, being charged with taking Russian bribes under anti-terrorism legislation would have been all over the front page of every paper and broadcaster ???

Thanks, isn't NSC a font of knowledge. Though no mention of Tice and Farage. ;)

Wikipedia; In February 2023 Voloshyn was formally accused of state treason for he allegedly "promoted the military-political leadership of the Russian Federation in subversive activities against Ukraine."[6]

BBC; Mr Gill, of Anglesey, was granted bail on the condition that he surrender his passport, is not to obtain international travel documents and not to contact Mr Voloshyn.
He is due to appear at the Old Bailey on 14 March.

Shouldn't the charge be treason? Acted on behalf of an enemy state.

Do we have evidence of that, or is it Propaganda?
A while back, the Wall Street Journal published an article on Russia funding a number of far-right parties in five EU countries, through a Czech-based fund.

If Putin does that in five other countries across the channel, you have to consider the possibility that it is happening with the multi-millionaire Farage, who is a former contributor to Moscow-based RT.

Thanks, and yes course it should be considered.

In as much as he has appeared frequently on RT he certainly has recieved Russian money - albeit he is far from alone among the stranger elements of British politics in that respect.

After meeting with the former Ambassador of Russia to the UK, Alexander Yakovenko in the Russian Embassy in 2013, Farage started appearing on the Kremlin-controlled RT, where he was allegedly paid £2000 per appearance. RT also supported and cultivated UKIP from at least 2011. Nigel himself said that the claims that he accepted more than half a million pounds from RT as “nonsense”, stating that he had only “two small appearance fees”. He also denied meeting Mr. Yakovenko (pictured with Farage below) in a 2018 segment on LBC.

By 2017 NF had made c.20 appearances on RT and been approached about being a regular presenter of a show on the channel

David Lilley, who owns businesses and over 12000hc of land in Russia has donated £100000 to Reform. While sanctions have seen assets written off, Lilley's companies in Russia stand to profit greatly from a ceasefire.
