Since Trump won the election Zelenskyy must’ve been expecting events similar to what we’re seeing. I assume him and his advisors have been deliberating their next moves for months prior to today.

I know he’s not got a lot in his corner right now, but they must have a strategy of some kind… right?
They should have had a strategy in this extreme event, but whether they would have devoted a lot of time to it, I don't know. I was a bit blindsided by the ferocity f the US response.
He doesn't need to make any decisions like that. He just needs to fight on. It's worth him trying to make the right noises towards the US along the lines of 'they'll get paid for any aid they send, as well as anything they've already sent'. It certainly wouldn't be smart to refuse any more aid from the US. If Trump cuts it, fine, but Zelenskyy shouldn't cut it.
Make the right noises sure, but don't accept a bad deal for Ukraine. That should be an important message to all parties. I was assuming that Trump would end aid for Ukraine, but if more were offered, then yes, Zelensky should take it.

If the US can get a crappy ceasefire agreed, they'll then insist that Ukraine has an election, and with constant disinformation they'll help Russia (/ Russian stooge) win the election, and failing that, they'll claim the election was rigged and the new president (eg, Zelenskyy) is illegitimate.

I feel it would be best for Ukraine to simply refuse any ceasefire or election until after the US is sorted out.

30,000 ain't gonna do shit

I have no idea.

But it'll be 30,000 more than Ukraine have got now. I assume the numbers will have been researched, and subject to discussions with Ukrainians.
Without claiming I'm even slightly ITK, I would imagine these won't be North Koreans either.

I just hope starmer lays into the orange. Someone needs to call him out.

Sadly I'm certain he won't when they meet next week, not in Trunmp's own back yard. It'll be all smiles and handshakes, and it'll be f***ing sickening to watch
Much as it would be cathartic and play well at home, it’s the last thing he should do.

Look at the reaction to Zelenskyy’s disinformation comment and how Trump escalated.

The man has a personality disorder, directly challenging him leads to tantrums and escalation and you can be damn sure he’s willing to escalate more than anyone else.

Starmer needs to play this very carefully.

I remember reading a few days ago, that Starmer said that any troops going into Ukraine would require a US backstop. In other words, a US safety net.

Remember when you were at school and you were studying Hitler and Nazi Germany and you scratched your head and wondered how a whole society could let that happen?

Well guess what, the answer is happening before our very eyes.

The question is, what are YOU going to say when publicly asked which side of the debate you stand?

Too many people right now are just switching off; not watching the news because “it’s all so depressing.”

Perfect conditions for the ****s to win.
Your first two paragraphs are almost word for word what I said to my wife recently. Unbelievable we've let it come to this!

Unfortunately, like it or not, Trump is the most powerful man in the world. Starmer’s job is to influence his decision making and affect outcomes, not to call him out the puffed up oranged sack of putrid hot air and toxic blubber.

As you say, it’ll all be cordial and friendly because Starmer understands diplomacy. However, as this thing plays out, the PM will have to nail his colours on the mast at some point. The disappointment will be if the rhetoric of complete support for Ukraine ends. Tricky times.

You'd think that he might also have something to say on another just as important war torn zone where Trump has plans.

Guess we'll find out soon enough.
