Well that's odd - I had lined up The French Connection to watch on my next day off as I'd never seen it.
RIP Lex

That's what I've been thinking.

Two of my friends at University had a faulty gas flue. One died and the other was on a life support machine for weeks although she survived. Didn't stop her being brain damaged and last I heard she still requires round-the-clock care. Dreadful. The landlord got sued for thousands and thousands of pounds. B*st*rd.

Anyway, RIP to the Hackman family. :(
That's awful

Circumstances emerging are even more puzzling. They appear to have ruled out carbon monoxide poisoning, but the suicide pact theory also doesn't add up.

His wife was found in a separate room to Hackman, in a bathroom with prescription pills scattered on the floor beside her. With a suicide pact the couple usually lie down together.

Another thing which doesn't add up is that in addition to the dog which was found dead two other dogs were found alive on the property. Surely if they had decided that their dog should die with them they would have made that decision for all the dogs, not just one of them.

The media still talking about CO last I heard.

It would make sense and explain how one dog died.

The very first thing that was ruled out is suspicious circumstances, which means the way they were found looked 'natural' (no injuries etc.).

It is odd is it not how we rush to speculate? Mea culpa there, I admit.

For me one of the greatest cinema actors, rather than "film star". So many great films but when i think of him I always think of his cameo in Young Frankenstein. "I was gonna make esspresso!".

As details have emerged they have certainly seemed "unusual". Despite the Sheriff's Office initially saying that foul play "was not suspected", investigators sought a search warrant and told the judge the circumstances are "suspicious enough in nature to require a thorough search and investigation."

Maybe there is more than one school of speculation?
One that thinks there is something to speculate about and another that thinks there is nothing to see here?
I just guessing, mind.

I've never seen that, thanks for the tip

EDIT: I thought you meant it was on TV tonight, got all excited for a while
It was Hackman's favourite role of his career.

You can watch the full movie here.....
With these sites I try and avoid pausing mid movie as they sometimes freeze when you do, but if you let the movie run continuously without pausing they usually work fine....

The desperation of the 'addiction' scenes in The French Connection was palpable for a film of its era, ... he was a very decent actor.

The dog killed them and then couldn't face what he had done (or the other dogs) so killed himself?

It is a tragedy but the one thought that keeps popping up is that I'm glad they didn't have cats instead of dogs, otherwise there wouldn't be much left to be found.
True story, that happened to my Aunt. The cats were found to be in excellent condition, very well fed.
