Still in Brighton
Sad and odd news. He was 95 but his wife was 30 years younger than him. And the dog to die at same time too. How can that not be suspicious?

Good actor, have watched Enemy of the State more than several times.

Death pacts are not considered suspicious. It’s extremely sad but not uncommon.

Ok. Then killing the dog also means he was a bit of a prick imo.
When people’s minds are unbalanced, it’s possible they thought it was a better option than the dog pound.

just looked through his list of movies on IMDB and I've seen nearly all of them. Many just because he was in them.

1960s started off mainly as a bit part Cagneyesque character actor. First really demonstrated his range in Bonnie and Clyde.
Then
inspired casting by Friedkin in The French Connection made him. Doesn't happen much these days. Don't see many actors do a decade of TV and 5th (or lower) billing to go onto become an A list star. Particularly one with a face like Hackman.

terrific range, equally adept at comedy and drama. Convincing as a pathetic doofus, hero or terrifyiǹg villain.

can't think of any film that he didn't improve or that he wasn't there or thereabouts the best thing on screen.

RIP again

Brighton factually.....
My immediate thought was carbon monoxide poisoning... 🤷‍♂️
This, we simply do not know the truth yet.

sad news great actor.
Love can hurt so bad sometimes, it can make you unbalanced, the thought of not being with someone you love is a frightening thought sometimes. It fills me with dread and incredibly low when I think I will not be with my daughter forever (the wife, meh)

Do you think the dog did it and then killed itself. That’ll stump em.
That was my first thought..when your owner is 90 + and the walkies get shorter and memory lapses mean less Bonios.....a dog has to make choices...

RIP Popeye.

R.I.P. Gene!

My favourite Gene Hackman film was, of course, Hoosiers

The story of a basketball team from a small Indiana town that overcame great odds to win the state championship.
