I'm not suggesting you're getting carried away here, but some people might argue there's a tiny case for Robertson/ Van Dijk/ AN Other/ Alexander-Arnold at this juncture. Or the Bayern Munich backline, at a push.

And who could forget Dallas, Ayling, Cooper and Koch.

Okay fair enough.. There may possibly be a few better. Bit unfair to compare us to the Leeds backline though, they're the best that has ever been.

Fair enough if that's your opinion. But it's wrong. He has proved to be good enough.

Has he ?

I’m very much on the fence with Solly he clearly has ability but I’m yet to see him fully show he is premier league player.

In fact in 3 seasons I can only really think of one game where he was a difference maker.

What do you mean by a premier league player? He literally plays in the premier league.. Covers numerous positions, pretty reliable I never panic when he's on the ball. Fair enough if you don't think he should be a starter but personally feel he's a brilliant player for the squad. Also, he's had a fair few decent games since we got promoted. Was electric when we beat Arsenal 2-1 first season up for example.

last chance saloon for solly this season , i reckon it's psychological with him so having smaller or no crowds at all may help , particularly the moaning Amexperts.

he's got pace , he's got tricks , he's got a wicked shot on him , i think the reason his end product is often lacking is because we are so defensive that there is usually no one in the middle for the rapid transition and delivery , if he could just trust himself to whip in crosses on the run then he could cause havoc.

nicely summed up, that is Solly all over....

It is plain to see there is talent in abundance within those feet and he just needs to push himself and believe in himself more, you see defenders back off him when he ventures forward and then for no reason it's a sideways pass when he should push himself that bit more....

Hope this is his season.

I mean someone who performs to a good standard regularly in the premier league.

Quite straightforward really.

If it wasn’t for the fact he can play in a number of positions in which we lack numbers or real quality I think he would have been moved on a while ago.

26 now and should be pushing on, yet really hasn’t developed since we were saying the same things about him 3/4 years ago.

I don’t doubt he actually has the ability .... I just question whether he has the mental strength and belief

Confidence is what Solly lacks, if someone could instil it in him, then l think he could still be a class act.

He doesn't have the physicality required. Skills on the ball, erratic. Physicality off the ball virtually non existent. More like a church choir boy than a LWB

stood up to James in the recent Chelsea game... maybe has been told to toughen up. Would prefer a specialist LB.

When exactly? Can’t cross scores about 1 goal a season if that for a PL attacking player it’s really not good enough, Dunk has far better stats and he’s a CB ffs. That Palace at home miss sums him up. He will be 35 and plums on here will be saying well he might come good next season

Really! You think Solly's trademark is rapid transition? I think Ryan could get in the box by the time Solly is ready to deliver his cross. It's not that people aren't in the box, they are, it's his delivery is poor. Has bags of talent but doesn't utilise it to effect.

i watch every game home and away on the tv , we as a team are capable of rapid transition but when the ball is taken down either wing 9 times out of 10 you are looking at 1 against 2 or 3 in the middle , the result then is the ball is recycled back to midfield and often back to Ryan ....posession is one thing , lack of penetration is another and yes i was being nice ....solly's final product is often pants as was bongs....so that left us with piss poor options down the left , hopefully he can link up with lamptey,a completely different and exciting proposition , we'll see.

Apparently, Bloom has flown out to the Caribbean but secret talks between him and Henry have not gone well. According to Barry Manilow:

But Rico went a bit to far
Tony sailed across the bar
And then the punches flew and chairs were smashed in two
There was blood and a single gun shot
But just who shot who?
At the Copa, Copacabana
The hottest spot north of Havana.

Premier League attacking player who's played mostly in a defensive system.. It's not uncommon for a defender to score more than a winger.. Dunk got roughly the same amount of goal contributions as Zaha last season. If you don't think Solly March is a good footballer then you don't really know your stuff. He clearly needs to do more going forward and has been underwhelming at premier league level. However, we could have far worse players on the bench.
