He's not though is he? He DID an incredible job in League 1.

With what he's spent, we should we walking the league. We're not even challenging for promotion at the moment and we're not going to with jokers like Barnes in the starting lineup.

Yes, he is. In my opinion. I understand your point of view, and you argue it better than a lot of the Poyet haters. But I don't agree, at all. We have a lot of league 1 players clogging up the squad and we clearly lack depth in pretty much all positions.

I think the january window is crucial, we all know what we need and who we want to move on. But in the summer we can release people like Ankergren, Brezovan, Dicker, Barnes... the list goes on and we can really push on by bringing in Championship standard players. Be under no illusions though, Poyet's contacts (teehee) have gained us quality players, and will continue to but we have to be realistic. We've come a long way in a short period of time, I don't think we should get too upset if we don't go up. 6th-10th would be a good result and would allow us to try and push on next season without any league 1 clingers on...

Crikey. Cardiff only spent £3.5m on ELEVEN players, whereas we spent £2.5m on one player.

Jordan Mutch
Etien Velikonja
Filip Kiss
Heidar Helguson
Craig Bellamy
Matthew Connolly
Tommy Smith
Craig Noone £1,000,000
Kim Bo-Kyung
Nicky Maynard £2,500,000

If only we had the same nouse as Cardiff.

Ah but if he's is replaced we will be brilliant...according to some

I can think of 4 players that need replacing. Either way, Poyet is naive tactically. No plan B or C, too much f***ing around with the starting Eleven and the silly prick won't put two up front which is really pissing me off now.

Have to agree there. Poyet Wont play CMS & Hoskins as a front 2 as long as I have a hole in my arse. Can't remember the last time we had a settled 11 for a run of games

First three league games this season all had the same starting 11. The only change in the fourth game was Lualua coming in for the departed Noone.

Why doesn't he know his strongest team? Because it changes every week and we're inconsistent.

Here's a thought. Perhaps that is because he picks the team that he thinks will do best against who we are playing. The only clubs that play the same 11 week in week out these days are those with no strength in depth.

Mutch cost £1 Million, Velikonja cost about £2 Million, Helguson joined on an undisclosed fee, Connolly cost £500k, Smith was £350k and Kim Bo-Kyung was £2.5 Million.

So 11 players actually cost them about £10 Million - but remember they are bankrolled by a fairly rich guy from Malaysia.

You are forgetting that WW oversees training and has various badges in coaching. He's not a business student or something. Tch.

Thanks. My point (sort of). Withdeanwanderer is going on and on and on and on about prices and how much we have paid and we should be doing better, but there are plenty of clubs who have invested millions upon millions. Not just transfer fees. Buy Buckley for £1m, but pay him £0.5m over a period of four years - which is the bigger sum? I would have thought he would be able to work that one out, but then he doesn't deal in facts.

We were outpriced by Sheff Wed for Mattock, yet everyone focuses on us being outpriced by Murray.

I can't take these threads seriously. It's clearly a wind-up, I refuse to believe anyone could really be such a wanker in real life.

Maybe he lacks attention?

I fail to see how someone so negative has not jumped off a tall structure.

I was on the verge of killing myself and, seemingly, felt a lot more positive than the OP.

I don't know why I even bother replying seeing as you're either a) on a wind-up or b) an imbecile. But what's this vast amount of money Poyet has spent? Compared to the fees splashed out & wages paid by other clubs (like Jordan Rhodes £8m - obviously that's why Blackburn are 'walking the league') his spend only looks like you'd expect to need to boost a squad assembled on a meagre league one budget to be competitive in the Championship.

Maybe you and your kind should go and provide your unique style of 'support' at a club where you'd fit in better like Chelsea - no understanding of football required and a new boss every 6 months to keep you happy.

Well said. When bridging the gap of L1 and the Championship, money needs to be spent. WW is comparing us to established sides (for his sake...) i.e. they have squads that are capable of staying in the league or challenging for promotion. Initial outlays are going to differ once we have moved on from being the new boys.

He is a Man Utd fan, so perhaps he doesn't take disappointment very well (yes, I know you follow Brighton as well...)

Christ some of you people will defend Poyet to the grave. He is not a bad manager. But, he is decidedly average. He has not only taken Albion as far as he can he has taken himself as far as he can. Simple as that. Never mind all that bollocks about who would take over, there would be a huge line of quality candidates wanting to come here now.

Who are these people and why aren't they currently employed?
