Reasons Bloom should give Poyet the SACK

Got to love NSC before the match we were on a good run and people were talking up our chances of an away win. 85 minutes with 10 men against a team (like it or not) that are top of the league with an incredible home record this season and its sack him, string up them, he's not good enough blah blah blah

Yes defeat hurts but lets not lose sight of the positives this season. We have lost concentration in the dying seconds of 4 games of late that would of seen us much higher up the table. We played Bolton off the park and we have a solid defence to build on and are creating more chances than last season

We are a better team than our position suggests and when we start turning chances into goals we will move up this table. Don't let the disappointment of a freak game blind the progress we are making on the pitch

Besides FA cup draw a welcome distraction this afternoon!!

The United Kingdom of Mile Oak
Crikey. Cardiff only spent £3.5m on ELEVEN players, whereas we spent £2.5m on one player.

Jordan Mutch
Etien Velikonja
Filip Kiss
Heidar Helguson
Craig Bellamy
Matthew Connolly
Tommy Smith
Craig Noone £1,000,000
Kim Bo-Kyung
Nicky Maynard £2,500,000

If only we had the same nouse as Cardiff.

Yes but the biggest thing is salaries. We still, I believe have one of the lowest salary ranges in the league. Cardiff have one of the highest.

If we want to be serious contenders and attract the likes of the players you have mentioned then we need to start paying a higher level of wages.

Then get into debt? No thanks.

Because YOU'RE the one suggesting there's plenty of better managers out there willing to come here, not Tony Bloom. So being realistic - who are these better managers that would be willing to come here ?

If Poyet left to play Golf tomorrow there would be plenty of very good names wanting the job. Why the hell do i have to name names. The fact that there are plenty of very very good coaches/assistant managers that would also make the step up. Poyet was not an experienced manager when we signed him..... name someone name someone name someone name someone name someone name someone name someone name someone name someone name someone name someone name someone name someone name someone name someone name someone name someone name someone. I will leave you people to it.

What a total misguided fool Withdean Wanderer is.

Can you I imagine the dropped jaws in UK football if Bloom were to sack Poyet?

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

What a totally ridiculous post.

No, try naming someone. Someone you claim would want it and someone that we would want too.

All these faults and still manages a top half finish in his first season in the Championship and still in the play offs this season. Sounds impressive to me!

Yup. Been a quality manager for us, makes mistakes sure but I can't think of anyone we could realistically get who is rather, just like not wanting Murray to go.

Correct. All based in this childish WANT IT NOW culture where being good isn't good enough, we have to be the best, even though our budget would suggest we are at least on a par with where we should be, and have overachieved at times under Gus also.

I think it's important to remember that this is Gus' first job in management as well, he is learning on the job. We knew that when we hired him, he will make mistakes but he obviously has more than enough redeeming qualities to his work to overlook them. I'd be fascinated to sit down with him and have a really honest conversation about a number of topics about things which have happened in his time here. For example, the obvious one, what EXACTLY happened with Murray. But there's so much more to this story than just one player leaving.

I'm also glad other people think if you're going to suggest there are better managers out there waiting to take over, you should be able to name them.

1 month on then, what has Poyet done?

f***ed up a home game against an off colour Millwall team with an utterly shit selection (to his credit, he did recover to win us 1 point).
Been outplayed and tactically destroyed by WATFORD.
Failed to score against Forest in another dismal performance thanks to his big money strikers being unable to hit a barn door
Outplayed Charlton and still failed to win thanks to abject defending (they've lost 3 and drawn 1 of their 4 games since)
1 goal from one of our 4 strikers in that time, while Murray's now up to 24 for the season.

On the plus side, he seems to have solved the penalty taking crisis. The bad news? It means playing an awful wideman who is slower than most park footballers.

Roll on January, and he can spunk more money on shit.

Feel free to add more, I'm sure there's a fair few

1) 3 years on, can't find a penalty taker. Would rather hide behind the dugout than work on finding someone to score pens.
2) Defending Suarez calling a player a "negro" and "blacky blacky blacky". Unacceptable.
3) Touting himself with Premier League jobs when he's got no chance. "If Chelsea come in for me then we might have a problem". They won't.
4) Playing a League 1 player in the Championship when he wouldn't get into any other team in the division. Barnes.
5) Murray. Claiming he couldn't afford Murray on a free but can afford 2.5 million + CMS AND Vicente? Can't he just admit his f*** up?
6) CMS. His major buy is a flop. It pains me to say it but he doesn't fit in. He works his arse off but the face doesn't fit. Not clinical enough. £2.5 million is more than any other Brighton & Hove Albion SQUAD!!!
7) Vicente. Spunking a major part of our budget on a sicknote. Risking him in a League Cup game and seeing him injured for the next 6 months.
8) Not replacing Murray. Almost 2 years on, we still haven't got a forward who is good in the air.
9) Bleating all summer about wanting to sign a target man, only to sign 5ft something Dobbie in the transfer window.
10) 3 derby games, Albion bottled two of them. How many other Albion managers have got dicked twice in the derby and never won one?
11) Failure to acknowledge Palace as our rivals, instead banging on about Southampton, who showed how to get out of this division while we dicked around in mid table.
12) Not learning his lesson and finding a plan b. Pissing the League in September 2011, only to go into freefall. Managing to do the same in 2012.
13) Signing too many midfielders at the end of 2011 and not being able to field a settled team towards the end of the season, struggling to accommodate the liks of Assulin.
14) Doing exactly the same in 2012 when we don't need Harley, Sparrow, Dicker, Crofts, Hammond, Bridcutt all playing for 2 positions.
15) "I'll go home" - well Gus, do one with that attitude.
16) Always the victim it's never his fault. When has Gus said "yep, got that wrong?". He doesn't.
17) Deadline day. What's the point of Spanish Dave if he isn't going to play? Same applied to Dobbie.
18) Blaming the transfer budget when he purchased CMS who cost more than pretty much the entire Palace side put together.
19) Cup games. He doesn't care about them, regardless of how much people pay to watch the team.
20) "“I have no problem with Glenn scoring".

Pretty football was great. Winning League 1 was great. But this squad should be fighting it out for promotion, not dicking about mid table. His time is up.

Do us all a favour, f*** off and support Man City

Failing to appreciate that matches against Palace are more than 'just another game'.

Not seen this thread before.
To be fair i don't agree with a lot of what you say generally, but 19 out of 20 of you points seem very fair and valid.
