Was there two years ago. Used a variety of late night internet cafes in the back of various mini-marts, the majority of which were staffed by, sure, guys of Arabic accents and manners. Never had a moment's cause for concern, nor expected to. Just ordinary people grafting to get by, same as everywhere else I've ever been. Like I said up top, most people just want to make a better life for themselves and their family, no matter where their country of origin was. And surely, 'Australians', of all people, should respect that.

Its a very specific problem - and it lays in those people who refuse to intergrate into local society. They are a minority and spoil it for the majority.

We spent many a summer on Cronulla beach and in the local pub Northies. In my high school class we have Lebanese, Chinese, Greek, Aboriginal, Indian and Australian backgrounds, never EVER did we have any problems. We did have a few issues with Aboriginals who were taught that violence is the solution to any problem but they we sent packing pronto.

HOWEVER - the people causing the problems at the moment are not from the Shire, not locals and certainly not prepared to intergrate into the local culture... the come into our suburb "crusing" in their boy racers cars with leering and jeering at the locals. They are a minority and Sundays turn out was an objection to the minority causing problems, not the majority who are good citizens...
