Been over at the Amex for meetings today and talking to the security, people stared queuing at 4am and all tickets had been sold by 10am.

so much for the "don't worry" there will be loads left.

Makes you wonder how many we would have sold if the Amex had a much larger capacity. 35k?

I'm more excited about the league games compared to this one.

Exactly. A big proportion of 'Sussex Reds' and SKY 'football supporters' would have been buying up tickets for the Liverpool game. Most of these fans wouldn't have heard of The Championship or Leeds United or Crystal Palace.

I would have thought queuing was a bit of a gamble if tickets were available to buy online from 9am and yet the ticket offices didn't open until 9:30, or do they hold tickets for counter sale that are separate from those sold online?

Ticket office at Amex said this afternoon 100 people were in queue of which only the first 30 only got tickets, so someone went home disappointed.

35K for this game? No problem.

My guess would have been closer to 45K. I'm not saying that is how many we could get week in week out in the premier league, but we haven't played a top six club at home for years, 'Brighton are Back' and buzzing under Gus, for some this would have been the first visit to the Amex and the plastic locals that support Liverpool would have showed up in numbers too.

However I do understand you can't build a stadium for this one game. Wouldn't it be nice if we were playing premier league teams so often that the novelty of playing Liverpool in the Carling Cup didn't really seem that special....Fingers crossed!

I know of someone that had 3 tickets and sold them for near £300 and now have another 2 which they are selling. Disgusting!

nice profit that.

palace home is the biggest game of the season so far.

Agreed, awful. I had a spare season-ticket seat going, but after a few people I know couldn't make it, I just let it slide and now someone has snapped it up this morning. Why? Cos its the right thing to do.

LFC is the biggest game in years. One of the biggest clubs around with fans who actually sing. Special.

CPFC will be more tense, spiteful, and we'll be desparate to win. But those fixtures come and go.

the slugs is the biggest game since we last played the slugs.

nothing comes close imo

Is the correct answer. It's a nice novelty game. I wouldn't be too disappointed if we played a fairly weak side. There are two more important games in that week.

yep, 100%.

big game - bollocks.
