So you all hated the German sketch in Fawlty Towers & the numerous other piss-takes of Hitler then?

I'm sorry, I'm not having that.

The sketch referred to was more to do with Basil Fawlty's own shortcomings and personal xenophobia than it was about British people hating Germans.

What Harry did was just plain wrong. Not only is it insensitive, but the guy plans to join the British Army for Gold's sake! Yeah sure, he's done all the teenage things like drink, shag and smoke - fair enough, he's young etc etc but it takes a special kind of twat to dress up as a Nazi.

So Harry wearing a costume means all Brits are facists?? I bet more people see Fawlty than this!!

And to say that he's going to be like Margeret because of a couple of incidents (which most people have done themselves) is frankly ludicrous. He 20 ffs.

I agree that the press are overreacting. But we live in a constitutional monarchy. He's the third in line to the throne.The monarchy's behaviour has to be peerless otherwise it invalidates any reason to retain it.

But FFS!! Its the Anniversary of the Nazi's "final Solution" at Auschwitz, so for a member of the Royal Family to go to a party dressed as one of the SS is totally out order in my books!

And a 20 year old going to a fancy dress party is supposed to think 'Oh that Auschwitz anniversary is a bit close, better not do the Nazi uniform'. Get real. I'm sure whatever he wore some piece of scum in the press would think of a reason - obscure or otherwise - why it is 'inappropriate'

It was a PRIVATE party. I could understand the fuss if he turned up at a garden party or for a royal walkabout in SS uniform, but for a private party this is such an over-reaction it's ridiculous.

If the members of the royal family are continually harassed by this kind of stuff then it's no wonder most of them go mad. This is just hype artificially whipped up by the Sun and you have fallen for it.

Reading some of these responses, it seems that there are a fair few Nazis on here with suggestions for hangings etc.

So, its nearly the 60th aniversary of Auschwitz's liberation, or 21900 days if you prefer. So what? Check out some of the stuff Mel Brooks has done for example, perhaps he was taking the piss. With the theme of the party, some people would have made an issue out of almost anything he wore.

Funnily enough I went to a Murder Mystery party last weekend and my mate as one of the characters had to go in a Nazi uniform.

As far as I am concerned this is fuss over nothing.
