It would be a big deal if he goes but by no means a disaster. If Gus goes and I were TB I'd be straight on the phone to Swindon. Di Canio: totally insane, a complete loony but 300% passion and a massive character. Would become a cult hero I'm sure of it. Can you just imagine his reaction if he got us in to the Premiership.............you tube gold

Don`t it always seem to go,
That you don`t know what you`ve got `til it`s gone.
Pave paradise,
Put up another parking-lot for the Amex.Lovely:guitar:

Sorry, got carried away there. But although Gus drives me mad sometimes with his tinkering and failure to unleash the Almighty Lualua enough, life would be so much duller without him.

What a load of codswallop ! There is no way Poyet will go to Wolves, they will be a championship club next year with far less potential than Brighton.Poyet has already stated that the club have done extremely well in being in the top ten in their first season back in the championship. However i do think Poyet will give it two years max or until a big job comes up with a club with more potential than Wolves.Personally i think Brighton will make the play offs next season with ease and might even go up automatically.

I think you will find Wolves have at least as much potential than we do_Our crowds will probably be about the same next season with the Amex expansion but Wolves are a pretty big club.

I think the point is Gus has worked out who he wants to keep and what targets he has. A new manager would have to come in and decide for himself. Some players may not fit his ideas and you have to start again. It might work fine but personally I believe it would be a blow, especially given it may take a while to get a new person in.
Of course, it would be a disruption. But not neccesarily a disaster, the club is progressing more than just one man, no matter how good he is.

This.

But for me personally, rather than the prospect of being less successful under another manager, I would be more gutted to not play the Gus style of football anymore. We really do aspire to play like Barcelona and it's stupidly ambitious but equally incredible and amazing to watch when it works.

Abso...effing...lutely

Who are these numbskull's....the first season back in the championship has been fantastic... the Amex is fantastic...Gus is passionate...be careful what you wish for doughnuts

Seems a sideways move if so and therefore I think this one is unlikely. Maybe West Brom if RH gets the England job, but even then, with the ground expansion, academy and Bloom then is West Brom even in the Premier League really worth leaving for? I could see West Ham when they sack Sam. West Ham are a big-ish London club which is a step to a club like Spurs. West Ham also if they move to Stratford could also be an interesting project. But Poyet is unlikely to ever do that much with Wolves or West Brom that he couldn't do with Brighton. As an aside I think Brighton will have the bigger crowds of the three when the capacity is up to 30,000.

I'm not sure what the attraction will be for other clubs at the moment. Gus has finished mid-table in the Championship with a controversial playing style which has only been partially successful at this level. It would take a massive gamble on the part of any club bigger than us to let him loose with his ideas. I think we'll have him for a couple more seasons yet

More likely he knew the Barnsley fans were about to invade the pitch, as they did, and that the whole end of season thing had been done at home to Birmingham. I was there and it didn't bother me particulary. It only bothers you because you are looking for something to attack Gus with.

This !!!

I don't see Gus taking the Wolves job. The only realistic threat of him leaving this summer might come from a relegated Villa. Funny as that seems now it would be bad news for next season as they'd lock up a promotion spot. Hopefully Bolton and Blackburn will come down, West Ham will go up and the division will be a free for all. Either way I see Gus here for at least another season. I reckon Tony will sense the moment and back him with a decent budget.

Not the real one
Poyet has the run of the show down here, design the Amex pitch, the dugouts, his office and not to mention the new academy which he is contributing too.
Where else would you get to mould a club like that?
Good club, good chairman, ambitious, full every match, where else can he get that? Wolves? Villa? No chance, Gus will only leave us for a proper club.
Some of the football we play at times is astounding! Long may Gus stay here. If some that mouth off about him going had to watch some of the depressing dross I've seen us play over the last 25 years, they wouldn't be so fast in letting him go. These types of manager don't come along often.
Let wolves have freedman.

Villa are most definitely "a proper club". O'Neill showed that with the right manager they're top 6/7 material.
