I also note from his presser that he's been working hard practising sucking his teeth so that's it's even worse than it was with us. FH has some serious catching up to do to get up to his standards.
Yes but we do have to hear a little too much about " the process " which is starting to grate a little"

All polo shirts and jellied eels now, me darlin’.
He already looks a bit like Dave from Chas and Dave.

I mean you're correct in that it is absolutely not true that we started any season with six defeats in a row, we haven't been in the bottom 3 since we got a 0-0 draw at Watford on 26 August 2017.

That said, I'm certain that our 2 wins in our first 18 games of the 20/21 season was without a doubt our worst top flight start. We didn't win a home game that season until January 31st! So the number of defeats aside, which they have clearly got wrong, the poster's point still stands.
At least Potter didn’t lose 6 games in a row at home like Klopp did at Anfield.

He must be a seriously average manager to do that.

Graham's already made his first appointment for overseeing Emotional Intelligence and Community Relations.

You're absolutely right, it was 5 home losses in 6 and the only non-loss was a 0-0 draw at home to a Norwich side who were all but mathematically relegated at the time. Class that, glad I didn't miss a single minute of the run and you're spot on, it's right to look back at the good times like that and say thanks for those memories Graham.

On a wider note, I can't believe that anyone is still arguing that Potter's home form was at all good or forgivable. We were a markedly improved side away from home after a dismal couple of years on the road under CH, and following the Albion away from home was great fun under GP. We were absolute dogshit at home under him and it was a problem he struggled to solve in all his time at the Albion. If fans had been in the stadium for the 22 home games played behind closed doors, there is no way he'd have lasted with just 3 wins at a rate of 13%. Boogate was only after 6 draws from 8 (8 without a win) - we had a 29% home win rate at that point in the season!

If we're going to look at Klopp's bad home run of six losses at Anfield in 2020/21 (not even bothering with the fact that he was forced to play Kabak and Henderson at CB for a chunk of those games) then it's worth remembering that after losing to Fulham 0-1 in the final run of that game on 7 March 2021, they didn't lose a single home game until they lost to Leeds 2 seasons later. In fact, Klopp only suffered 2 more home Premier League losses in the 3 full seasons he managed after that run. Can't believe anyone would compare the two managers.

FFS not you again!

I’m not comparing the managers 😩

I’m pointing out the simple fact that bad runs can happen to any manager, even the best in the world such as Klopp and more recently Guardiola.

Their runs were much worse considering who the clubs/managers are and who their bad results were against.

At least get your facts right, it wasn't 5 home losses in 6, it was 4, there's even a screenshot posted above which shows this.

And if you're going down the route of highlighting Klopp having bad injuries at CB during his six home losses then I'll thrown in that against Burnley (the only game in that run we would be "expected" (entitled?) to win then we were without both Dunk and Webster that day and had to play Veltman and Duffy at CB - they got destroyed by Weghorst.

Your obsession with those six games rather than Potter's overall contribution is highly amusing so please carry on!

Terrible run.

Can’t believe we lost to United/Newcastle away and Liverpool /Spurs at home.

Should be beating teams like them.
Have beaten United at home, Spurs at home and Newcastle away already this season

Won't be playing Burnley though......

You replied to me!!!! 😂 😂 😂 😂

You are right, I made a mistake, we drew with Norwich and Southampton to make it 8 home games without a win from January to May.

If you don't want to accidentally reply directly to me again (I know computers can be tough), I'd recommend setting me on your ignore list. Otherwise, I'm more than happy to continue to amuse you with other facts, such as Potter's terrible home win rate, or the 1 win in 16 in 2020/21 run?

I only just realised who you were, please accept my apologies for not immediately doing so. it's been a few weeks since you last entertained me.

Surprised you haven't called me a "weirdo" again yet! :ROFLMAO:

There you go again, cherry picking granular stats. Again - bad form/results happens to the best of them, let alone a team whose main objective each season was survival.

I really don't give a f*** about all the minor details during Potter's time here.

I just look at where we were before and where we were when he left - massive progress.

One of the hardest jobs in the PL is to keep the Hammers happy. I heard some of his interview and I couldn't bare the listen. I certainly don't miss the teeth sucking.

I can't wait to see how the West Ham fans handle: 'it is what it is', 'this is the Premier League, hardest league in the world', 'maybe I need a history lesson', 'stop shouting shoot' 😉
Maybe one of the reasons you don't miss it is because you still have it with Fab.

I have a lot of respect for the work that Potter did at Brighton, especially tactically, but I don't think that he was as brilliant as you do. He did a good job but showed a bunch of quite big flaws throughout his time. We had to endure lots of pretty rank runs - especially at home, and we were crap in front of goal. I don't think highlighting results and goals is cherry picking at a granular level. He was also incredibly dismissive of the fans and left under a cloud. I therefore don't think that he is worthy or deserving of the praise that some give him in spite of leaving us in a better place than when he joined. We transformed into a top six side under RDZ and maintained that to finish in a Europa League spot. It was magical and an experience I will always be thankful for, regardless of how it ended.

That's my lot.

Enjoy the rest of your day mate. I can see you don't fancy actually discussing anything to do with Potter unless it is an admission that he achieved the impossible dream by taking us from 17th to 9th.

I loved Potter, I loved RDZ, they were both great.

I don't believe that RDZ would have done what Potter did if he'd taken over from Hughton though.

Potter was the right man for that period (despite the bad runs!).

I don't like the way he left but I understand why he did, an opportunity too good to turn down (career/financially).

I know many won't admit it now but I bet the majority were gutted when it was announced he was leaving.

A lot of the Potter negativity is clearly down to grudges over his exit, fair enough.
