Was Ruth Ellis a PRETTIER blonde murderess?

No, and in addition her beverage looks a little cloudy. She's not murdering HERSELF in that picture is she?

Latest Update - Gerry's Blog/Diary

Day 125 - 05/09/2007

We were surprised to find increased media presence in Praia da Luz again today. We were followed down to church, then to the shops and back to our accommodation which is very unusual, apart from the build up to the 100 days. All the excitement seems to be over the results of the recent forensic tests that again have created a huge amount of speculation. There has been no official conformation that the report has been received, or what the tests suggest if anything!

No update on Gerry's blog for yesterday, will make interesting reading.

Day 126 - 06/09/2007

Everyone will know that Kate attended for interview as a witness with the Portuguese police today. This is only the second time Kate has been interviewed and although it was a long day, going on past midnight, this was shorter than my second interview which lasted 13 hours! The suggestion that Kate is involved in Madeleines disappearance is ludicrous. Anyone who knows anything about the 3rd May knows that Kate is completely innocent. We will fight this all the way and we will not stop looking for Madeleine.

So let's get this straight. They go out for a meal. One of them nips back murders the daughter and disposes of the body. They then go back to the table. One of them (may be the same one) "discovers" the girl is missing.

Weeks later they hire a car and shift the body from its temporary burial place (under the stairs maybe) and dispose of it.

Nearly.

I think the suggestion is that that Madeleine died in some sort of accident rather than was murdered by the parents. Additional suggestions are that the (medical professional) parents administered sedatives to the children in order to keep them asleep whilst they were out and that they over-did the dosage and/or the accident was related to these sedatives.

The parents then thought "oh shit, this will look really bad - let's hide the body and pretend she's been abducted. She's dead now, that can't change, and we could be in a lot of trouble if the truth was known".

Sounds about right (as a working theory). How does that fit in with the screaming for her father bit from a couple of days before, as reported by the neighbour?

Having watched nearly every episode of forensic detectives on the Discovery Channel, that is my theory too. In almost every single episode, the perpertator always turns out to be the first person that reports a body missing!

Easily. They didn't give her enough on that night and she woke up. They made sure she didn't wake up the next night.

Although that sounds more like murder than an 'accident', doesn't it?

What sort of sentence is it if she is found guilty of her accidental death?

seems a weird sentence to pass???

In the case of a true accident, there would be no case to answer. [for example a child trips over, hits their head, dies].

True accidents are rare though. You hear of road traffic 'accidents' for example, where the driver was pissed up, and had an 'accident'.

Even if this was truly a case of an accident, whether there were contributary factors or not, then in the case of the current speculation having substance, the parents would also face the biggest charge of wasting police time in history, plus a fairly major deception charge relating to the fund.

Well that at least is plausible. If unlikely. But so is child abduction - it is so rare. Despite what reading NSC would lead you to think.

I happen to know that these days you would have to go completely hog wild with sedatives to administer a dose sufficient to kill someone, In order to cause a respiratory arrest (The usual cause of fatalities with things like benzodiazepines and opiates) tou would probably need a handful of tablets, even for a four year old.

No I dont think that two Doctors would have made a mistake of this nature.

If they were in the habit of giving the kids a Mickey Finn at bedtime, the kids would have been dopey during the day as well.

Simple way to check the other kids is to take a hair sample, commonly used sedatives leave traces in hair for months.

Ok - understood, makes sense actually. Let's hope their God can forgive them this one.

it is a theory Papa .........................................

Yes it is. Seems plausible however, sadly. Whichever way this goes, the fact that a little girl went missing is the worst part - as a father if 2 kids, it chills me to the core when I read about this sort of thing.

Indeed. And I'd like to point out that it's neither my theory nor one I subscribe to. (*)
